Bring back Debs Brownlow - the show just isn’t the same without her…

@eggandonion

Miss Crawshaw and Dr Gadass should become mates, and the detective with the dodgy hair too. The new Deirdre and Liz.

There are no strong female friendships anymore. The nearest I suppose was Sally & Abi, but Sally had been nowhere to be seen during Abis latest crisis. Used to have Eileen, Liz, Gail, Rita, Yasmin and before, Deirdre, Alma, Rita, Audrey etc.

Deadringer · 14/04/2022 14:46

Yes I found it quite irksome that a strong, competent, middle aged woman should descend into an unprofessional, sobbing mess because of a man. Such a boring cliché.

eggandonion · 14/04/2022 17:25

The actor playing Daniel must be thrilled at being the new Ken.
Did anyone see the dna journey with Maureen Lipman and Rula Lenska?

Funny you should say that, but I was thinking the other night just how 'thrilled' Summer must be, at playing the uncoolest teen in soap history! Nose in a book 24/7 and dresses like a 10 year old Grin
StEval · 14/04/2022 17:54

@PrincessScarlett

Perhaps Toyah is plotting revenge on both of them and will disappear with Alfie 🤷🏻‍♀️
Oooh Yes! I hope so, that look at the end! Take Imran down Toyah Hes a shit!
Deadringer · 14/04/2022 17:57

Why do the corrie writers think that a teen girl studying too much is a good/interesting storyline. I mean presumably it's leading to something but still, it's so boring.

MichaelAndEagle · 14/04/2022 21:01

I hope Toyah and Imran don't get back together to raise Alfie, because if they do poor Elsie had to leave for nothing!
Total should have kept her mouth shut until Elsie was settled with them and then told him she knew about Alfie.

MichaelAndEagle · 14/04/2022 21:28

Oh I've just finished watching last nights! Can't believe she's taken him back!
Like I said in my last post, that means Elsie had to leave for no reason poor thing.

babywalker56 · 14/04/2022 21:53

Just finished yesterday’s episode. 100% Toyah is going to do something dodgy with Imran’s kid. It just doesn’t make sense her running back to him and her face looked dodgy as hell at the end.

I agree with a pp. I thought it was implied that the headteacher had a thing for Roy next thing she’s turning up at Daniel’s with a bottle of red😂 what a mess

Honeyroar · 14/04/2022 22:51

@mycatisannoying

Ah, quelle surprise. Yet another middle-aged Corrie woman being portrayed as a bit of a joke. Would it really have been such a stretch to see a competent, well-balanced and professional female headteacher? Hmm

As for TA girl, why should it matter how much make-up she wears? Confused

It just doesn’t suit her. Or look blended. She looked much prettier before..

I wonder, hope, that Toyah sides with Abi and helps her beat Imran in the custody battle. Although to be fair, I’d probably feel the same as Imran if my baby was going to be brought up by Abi. He’d probably be better off if Imran was his main parent and Abi had him a night or two a week!

As for the headmistress, even a strong woman is allowed to be floored and upset at a break up, to have emotions!

Honeyroar · 14/04/2022 22:52

But she’d really not go for Daniel. He’s been a pain in the arse at her school generally!

AmberLynn1536 · 15/04/2022 02:28

Daniel really is the new Ken, the scriptwriters have even given him the same storyline, back in the day The headmistress Sue Jeffers was having an emotional meltdown when her husband left her and she poured her heart out to Ken, she then turned up at his house with bottles of wine, eventually Ken succumbed to her charms but they were at least the same generation so it was a believable storyline, unlike Mrs Crawshaw setting her sights on Daniel, I think scriptwriters just enjoy making middle aged women a joke, it’s utterly tiresome.

clpsmum · 15/04/2022 08:29

So annoyed at a lot of the story lines right now. The Mrs Crawshaw thing is ridiculous why can't she be a professional woman without falling to pieces and throwing herself at Daniel and Roy.

The summer thing is just boring as is summer tbh.

So annoyed at everyone slagging off abi and nobody mentioning that imran was actually in a position of power and took advantage of an incredibly vulnerable woman.

As for Sam and Jalena ffs they are kids let them be kids and friends without it having to be crushes and fancying each other

clpsmum · 15/04/2022 08:29

Vent over!! I'm far too invested lol

Was Imran in a position of power? He was very upset and drunk at the time of his one night stand with Abi.
clpsmum · 15/04/2022 10:33

I would class it as a position of power defending one of the people accessed of murdering her son. If not a position of power he was still taking advantage of somebody he knew to be a former drug addict and in a place of turmoil making her extremely vulnerable

thenightsky · 15/04/2022 10:46

I agree, Imran was in a position of power. Toyah did say that to him too.

lollipoprainbow · 15/04/2022 11:19

The sam and jalena thing is cringey, she looks about five years older than him.

clpsmum · 15/04/2022 13:32

@lollipoprainbow I agree and it really annoys me why can't they just be friends they are so young

NCTDN · 15/04/2022 21:12

Also IRL the script that plays Sam is still at primary school I think (or possibly just gone to high school this year). I bet he's mortified!

Sidisawetlettuce · 15/04/2022 22:18

Craig running into the bedroom after Faye has made me feel extremely nauseous 🤮

Sidisawetlettuce · 15/04/2022 22:46

Oh and why did Kelly throw a stick of rock onto the coffin? Confused

eggandonion · 15/04/2022 22:57

Craig and Faye should have separate rooms, anything else is inappropriate. I think the stick of rock was from the memory box, so a connection to her dad.
I wonder if Ricks house is near Daniels? And near Audrey's and the archdeacon house?

StEval · 16/04/2022 06:52

She had lovely memories of being at Blackpool with her Dad. She talked about it just before.
