Just watched this and I'm in shock ar Joe Thomas' demeanour, is he unwell? It was so uncomfortable to watch and the other panellists looked so uncomfortable too. He seemed so awkward and really unhappy, I can't understand why he did it as he clearly didn't seem able to cope?

I agree. He seemed uncomfortable with the idea that anyone might not be telling the truth. Can’t imagine why he agreed to be on it.

You have to wonder what his agent was thinking! He was on a recent series of Taskmaster and seemed to struggle with some of the spontaneous 'banter' in the studio but nowhere as badly as this. I hope he's ok.

Just watching this now because of this thread. Jo Brand said she was reading somewhere about a boy who took 4 1/2 hours to empty the dishwasher. That was on here, wasn't it?

I think that pretending to be socially awkward is his TV personality. He was the same on Taskmaster.

That’s what I thought - I don’t think he does it that well because it comes across as quite uncomfortable. I think the comment about not understanding why someone would lie was a joke (again, one that slightly mis-fired).

It worked better on Taskmaster when he was surrounded by other more exaggerated personalities. I think Joe Thomas is trying to be a caricature, like how the comedian Joe Wilkinson (think that's his name) is, but it doesn't always work for him as people don't understand it.
