Anyone watching this.

Gripping viewing with footage from the time

I binged it all recently. It was very well done. What a sad tale though.
I hesitate to say I enjoyed it but it was very good.

TDCtomorrow · 09/02/2022 22:25

It's awful isn't it. I didn't know what to think by the end. I've watched documentaries on it before and read a book that was written and I still wouldn't swear who did it

I just finished this. I was surprised that they could accuse the Lewis family of murder quite so openly.

I changed my mind several times but I did believe Alison wasn't responsible, she seemed credible to me. They didn't say but is she still with her husband?

TDCtomorrow · 10/02/2022 13:54

No. She got another girlfriend soon after Mandy was killed.
The evidence if they have charged Alison I think would have put her away. The way the murders were committed with the bar pointed to her. The fact that absolutely no DNA from David Morris was found anywhere in the house blows my mind. The man was drunk on speed and not a clever man. How could he have cleaned up so well.
Alison's DNA was actually on Mandy. It's just all bonkers

I thought they found 'likely' david Morris dna on the sock in the bedroom.

I Don't quite know what to believe. The fact that they are refusing to release the full report is concerning. Why wouldn't you? The trust in the police is gone since the other miscarriages of justice in Wales, so one would expect them to be falling over themselves to prove he did it, and lay it to rest once and for all.

The lewis brothers do have a cloud over them. The statement about never being in the house, to being there once, to twice, to downstairs and upstairs and carrying tumble dryer, plus admission that one of them may have touched the murder weapon. All needs a re-visit.

dayswithaY · 10/02/2022 20:57

I feel like the police aren't interested anymore now Dai Morris is dead. Very sad story all round, we will never get the truth I think.

howardmoonseyebrow · 11/02/2022 11:33

I live quite close to where this happened, emotions still run very high about how there was a Police cover up- SW police have a shocking history for miscarriages of justice. I do think the most recent enquiry should be made public so people can know why decisions have been made.

Priddypuddycat · 11/02/2022 16:56

Excellent series , so many more questions than answers
I was not far from there at the time , local view very different to the police
Are the Lewis brothers still in the area ?

TDCtomorrow · 11/02/2022 17:56

I live close by too and the whole community has very strong feelings about it.
The brothers late still around yes

I found it fascinating that the police chief felt that finding your wife was having an affair no reason to kill but being refused sex was

Thethreecs · 12/02/2022 07:55

I watched this yesterday, very sad case, awful, awful way to die. I too kept changing my mind throughout.

Was shocked at all the cases of innocent people locked up. The police did not come across well at all. I guess there was way more to it that wasn't shown.

Did they ever say where the Lewis brothers were, they said they'd an air tight alibi. Is the case completely closed or are they still looking into any other evidence that comes in? I know David died but IF he was innocent it would be nice for his name to be cleared.

The man that came forward 20 years later 🙄 I didn't get how his family would be affected? He said he couldn't come forward to protect his family? I know he didn't have a driver licence but...

JaneJeffer · 12/02/2022 15:06

I was totally confused by the end. So many questions.

Why did Dai Williams say he was with Mandy on the Friday if he wasn't? How did the police know it was him who made the phone calls from his house? His girlfriend could have made them.

The Lewis's behaviour was very strange. The twin brother finds his nieces murdered at the scene and doesn't even report it and then can't account for his whereabouts for hours.

The neighbour said Alison turned up at the scene freshly showered but she said she was home in bed with her husband.

I'd like to know the truth.

JaneJeffer · 12/02/2022 15:09

Oh they weren't his nieces. I'm confusing myself now! But still why didn't he report the deaths? And his brother saying he'd been all round the house previously sounded like trying to account for any DNA they might find.

RevolvingPivot · 13/02/2022 15:03

Why would Steven have been in the house though? Why would his DNA be on everything?

Simon should have been sacked. He didn't preserve the scene or report the murders.

I think the brothers had more of a motive and had connections to cover it up.

Why didn't David just say the chain was his. Strange that if the chain wasn't in his pocket he would have never been caught / framed.

Who is the kids dad?

It just be awful losing family like that but to never know who did it and why is terrible!!

TDCtomorrow · 14/02/2022 22:14

There's a Facebook group with loads more information. Over 26k people on it

Watched it all yesterday

Bizarre that the first police officer on scene didn’t set up a cordon or treat as a murder scene

I think David didn't want his partner at the time to know that he had been sleeping with the victim so lied about the chain.
