Just caught up with the hole drama in the skating for Hanyu - it does seem unfair if he messed up a jump due to a hole in the ice, surely should he allowed a second chance at the routine?

I always wonder if skaters prefer to go first / middle / last, as surely the ice is really rough with lots of indents by the time the last skater goes and they don't seem to run the machine over it each time?

what a shame, the equipment is not allowing as much speed as required.

Saw the bobsleigh today. After walking down the remains of the 1936 Garmisch bobsleigh track a few years ago, have a certain respect for competitors.
