The Tinder Swindler

I watched this on Netflix last night and found it very compelling. The pain and abuse the victims had to endure was awful. The "swindler" was obviously a world champion.

I feel so much for his victims. Yet, many of the comments in the Telegraph this morning blame the victims for being gold diggers and basically calling them stupid.

It is an illustration about just how vulnerable women, even smart ones, can be bamboozled by a man love bombing them.

I think the gold digger aspect of this is awful. I think many of those commenters have not watched the film. They were afraid for their "boyfriend's" life and safety, never mind their own. They were in love with a con artist who cared nothing for them, yet would exploit them because he had fooled them into believing he was genuinely at risk.

And he is free to do the same.

I watched it and he is such a slimy creep even from when he was younger was wanted for fraud in his home place Israel. The women were all just looking for love and adventure and there is an element that they were attracted to the lifestyle but also they were vulnerable and he had others working with him to entrap the women and swindle them. I really liked the Dutch woman who got all his clothes. No way would I (not that I have it) would be taking out loans to give to anyone. But he was a con artist and he is now free to keep doing the same things to others which is shocking. The women were lovely but I did not like the one who was just his friend as she came across as a bit snotty but she is now left with debts also. Of course people will blame the women as women always blamed even in domestic violence, rape, etc it is always the woman who is on trial. Do you understand was that really his ex wife and child on the plane and was she involved in it all somehow? The blonde woman from Finland was it was so vulnerable but lovely and a true believer in love. She lived in London. No way though would I be hopping on a plane with a total stranger that I had just met that day. Hope they find some peace as would be soul destroying what they went through and hope that nasty slime piece of crap gets put away.

Also if someone was texting me 'miss u baby' and all that crap as it all was a bit cringey I would be put right off.

There's "love bombing" and there's getting on a plane with someone an hour after meeting them.
