WeAreTheHeroes i think the accent is put on and they are hiding there true voice when signing too. Wuthering Heights is one of Kate Bush well known songs and first hit, based on the book by yorkshire writer Emily Bronte. Kate Bush wrote a memorial for bronte for yorkshire moors memorial a few years back. I may be wrong but there was one note she hit yesterday which made me think it was her. (i am a big fan as i am sure you can guess)

I think I am going with Charlotte for mushroom. Under Milkwood, This Morning, Catherine Tait’s naan, W for Wales, Crazy chick.

I would absolutely love it to be Kate Bush though that would be amazing.

Actually i have changed my mind after rewatching the clips as mushroom has a younger persons hands. More likely Charlotte on reflection- they mentioned loving learning and she has opened a private school for a small number of children. Would have loved it to be Kate though

I did think about the Wuthering Heights/Yorkshire links in relation to KB. There was something which made me think of her last night - would be fab if it is.

I posted last night about the possibility of Rockhopper being Pink, and of course and understandably had scoffs and laughs and told too short and too famous and I totally get those points.

But I swear…the more I wiki and watch past clues/performances the more I’m falling for it 🙄

When Jaime Winstone was revealed, I thought "Well that's something, getting a former GoT star on". Obviously I'd never watched GoT. Why did I think she was in it?! Was her dad?

I love Pink. Those are not her legs. Pink has the body of a gymnast: her legs are muscular. Rockhopper has the legs of a very slim flamingo.

Kate Bush is a virtual recluse. If she’s in that mushroom costume it is the coup of the century.

There's no way the clues for rockhopper could be anyone apart from Michelle Williams, much as I find it irritating that she's already done the US version. It's like getting a present that been regifted 😁

Caught up now and tbh my reaction to the 'take it offs' last night was 'who?' and 'meh'.

I concur that all your guesses are accurate and there is a Westlife, a Jones, a Williams, an Imbruglia and a Church (she has a new mucky mansions type series out soon I think, mucky retreat..? Dunno, anyway).

However, I would love them to be different. SO my hope is that Robobunny is in fact Ant and Dec and Panda I have a new idea - purely based on the fact that I have just learnt she is my neighbour, so lives in the UK, and that Davina promised a 'big star' and that guess is... Janet Jackson.

Next series I would like there to be celebs in the vibe of Morten Harkett, Sue Perkins, Will Young. I'd even take a 'Sandi Toksvig everybody!'. And fair play to Gloria, I thought she was game to do it.

Haha I didn't work that one but I worked it in 2018 and 2019. Glad I didn't work the 2020 one as half of it was cancelled and my workmates had fun explaining that to the queues. I was at the caravan show in Feb 2020 and we were talking about covid and we didn't think it would be that bad! Next time I was in the sec was April 2020 working at the temp hospital! Mad how things changed in less than 8 weeks!

Do the panel get told in their earpieces who it is when the mask comes off? It would be mortifying for nobody to know who you are when you've sweated your bollocks off inside a costume.

Surely it's all scripted. All of it. Even the 'wows' and the 'amazings'. That's why it's so good - because it's like watching a play where everyone is word perfect.

I am convinced there is no surprise as to who goes. The 'celebrities' must be contracted for a length of time, or at least some of them are (am sure GH and WY were employed for a certain length for e.g.).

Then the 'judges' must make their guesses in advance of the show because there's no way they could just come up with some random soap star then and there - who they might not even know.

And the guest 'judge' is fed some names because they are only contracted for one show.

And they must practice the 'take it off' a few times (because there's no way Jamie thingy for e.g. would have had that free-flowing hair under the firework mask. She would have had it tied back or hair-netted or somesuch.)

So there is no real surprise - but I just like the theatrically of it all and the way everyone plays their part.

That's probably why Joel says who they are seconds after the mask comes off

However, this is the first week that I am convinced Mushroom is Charlotte Church!! I paused it on the bit where it said to call 345997 - the numbers spell ‘eglwys’ on a phone keyboard which is the Welsh word for church (diolch, GCSE Welsh- knew it would come in handy for something!) Don’t know what the £22 referred to though. Also KK = CC? There’s no letter K in the Welsh alphabet so closest sound is C

I've changed my mind since my earlier guesses and think mushroom is Charlotte Church. On song clue week she sang Crazy. She had an album called Crazy Chick and had sung Crazy on her TV show with Nelly Furtado. There are various other clues which fit too.
