New thread for the guesses!

OP posts:
WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 31/01/2022 00:40

Now I've caught up (was watching about half an hour behind) did anyone see the QR code on the back of Robobunny?

I zapped it and it came up with:

My royal barcode is 200019992003

Westlife performed at the Royal Variety in those years, it seems.

Ooooh! I was thinking Royal = Prince, then wondering if somebody covered 1999 ("2000, zero, zero, party's over") in 2003 - but Westlife and the RVP are way more likely.

Sorry if it's a stupid question, but what is Charlotte's connection with Catherine Tate's Nan? Did she appear on a sketch with her once?

Marvellous work, @Hoppyhops ! I think it has to be Charlotte, but that she's deliberately putting on the (slightly OTT) northern voice in an attempt to make people think that she's Sheridan. I don't think there could be that many possibilities for Mushroom, with that voice: she isn't just very good, she is absolutely outstanding.

Actually, as well as the clue-writers obviously identifying likely wrong guesses and throwing out decoy clues to deliberately send viewers off on a wild goose chase, I think that, if they are wise, the contestants will have carefully considered similar celebs whom they might be mistaken for and really played up to make people think they are them. If Charlotte used her own, undisguised voice when speaking, she wouldn't even need to sing a note for it to be obviously her!

Still positive about Aled for Traffic Cone, but I like the suggestion of Rob Brydon. That could add quite a twist to it if they had people like Rob (as Ken Bruce), Debra Stephenson (as Davina) or Luke Kempner (as Jeremy Vine) in there who could be so unfailingly convincing as another celeb!

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 31/01/2022 00:44

Actually, Debra Stephenson with a faultless Davina impression would be amazing, with Davina herself there on the judging panel! People would be staring, pointing back and forth between the two and just spluttering with bewilderment Grin

mooncheese · 31/01/2022 01:06

Can anyone link some of the other clues to Aled.? All the traffic references, the shovel/spade that’s in every single clue package beside him? The lunch box etc? I don’t get it 🤨

mooncheese · 31/01/2022 01:22

Ignore last post, found some quite easily. Couldn’t Google Aled Jones traffic though cos you can guess all that fricken comes up 😂

WeAreTheHeroes · 31/01/2022 07:55

Sheridan Smith is from Lincolnshire - not what I'd call northern though she's played northern roles.

LookItsMeAgain · 31/01/2022 09:08

@GrandTheftWalrus

Who's josh groban? I think I recognise the name. Thanos?
This gave me a laugh this morning!!!!

Josh Groban is the Canadian singer (on the left in my picture) and Josh Brolin is the actor who played Thanos in The Avengers movies.

Thanks for the laugh though!!! Maybe next year they can get Groban to sing as Thanos! Really mess with their heads Grin

LookItsMeAgain · 31/01/2022 09:09

Feck it. Groban is on the RIGHT in my picture !!! I was laughing so much I got my left/right mixed up Grin

APJ1 · 31/01/2022 10:18

Can anyone work out the relevance of the two cat (I think) figurines in Firework's first VT for Jaime Winstone? I had interpreted them to refer to the Pussycat Dolls, to whose song Hayley Tamaddon did a winning Dancing on Ice routine. Could it have even been a not-clue-at-all clue?

I'm not sure if he's the right "level" for this show.

Basement-level?

Grin
GrandTheftWalrus · 31/01/2022 10:47

@LookItsMeAgain glad I made you laugh. I made myself laugh after I posted it and realised I had the wrong person Grin

mooncheese · 31/01/2022 12:29

@APJ1 she catwalked for Vivienne Westwood. Maybe that’s it?

mooncheese · 31/01/2022 12:35

Going waaay back, can anyone remember which one of two lies one truth was true for Lionfish?

APJ1 · 31/01/2022 13:05

@mooncheese I don't know if it was revealed at the end but I'd say the Lionfish's truth was "Things I have done have been called extreme". My interpretation of that was being a reference to one of his music videos where he jumps out of a plane (extreme sports?).

APJ1 · 31/01/2022 13:11

This one.

mooncheese · 31/01/2022 13:33

Ah yes, okay.

Well when I was looking up that Jamie Winstone thing I noticed she was in a film called Goldplated when she was young. This was in Traffic cones “ I had a goldplated childhood”

So I checked back on the others ( thanks tellymix article for listing them 😂)
Apart from Poodles one about him busking he said..
“I’ve been known to be hazel, cerulean, ultra lilac” if Traffic Cone is Aled this could be Joseph’s coat
“I have to admit I do love to be idolised” Will Young

I know Lionfish had already gone when he said these but the 2 lies 1 truth started the week lionfish was voted out so they would have already been written

I think, the other clues that aren’t them MIGHT be for the others.

mooncheese · 31/01/2022 13:36

Doughnuts one lie was “I share a name that’s close to home”did someone say Michelle Williams was from Rock something?

Sunbird24 · 31/01/2022 13:57

Rockford, Illinois…

mooncheese · 31/01/2022 14:26

@Sunbird24

Rockford, Illinois…
It could fit.

I thought of another. Mushroom said “something I did got everybody talking” could be firework/Jamie. Everybody’s talking about Jamie, musical.

Whatinthe · 31/01/2022 18:51

@SantaHat

There's no lisp - pretty sure this was mentioned last week. It is definitely Aled.

Lol well that’s me told then 🤣🤣

Don't worry, I hear it as well and said the same last week Grin
SantaHat · 31/01/2022 20:15

Yay! You can sit in the naughty corner with me @Whatinthe 🤣🤣

MummytoCSJH · 31/01/2022 20:59

Oh also - I can’t remember exactly what was said but the Mushroom VT mentioned heartbeat and Charlotte Church was in heartbeat as Katie Kendall (wiki tells meGrin). KK on the perfume.

@mooncheese - I think Lionfish's truth was the ' en pointe' clue as Will Young said when he was unmasked that he had trained in classical ballet. I really think you're right though about the mixing up of other singers' clues.
I still think he and Poodle should have stayed longer than Fireworks😀

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 31/01/2022 22:38

I think Lionfish's truth was the ' en pointe' clue as Will Young said when he was unmasked that he had trained in classical ballet. I really think you're right though about the mixing up of other singers' clues.

That one was really sneaky, as you only got the specifically ballet reference of 'en pointe' if you saw it written down. Anybody in the studio, not looking up at the screen (or blind viewers, for that matter) would have assumed it was 'on point' - which could have far more ambiguity and variations of meaning.

Ellmau · 01/02/2022 08:56

I don't think male ballet dancers do en pointe though, do they?

APJ1 · 01/02/2022 09:15

*Mushroom said “something I did got everybody talking” could be firework/Jamie. Everybody’s talking about Jamie, musical.

As I can't fit the other two lies/truths for Charlotte Church, I thought that one referred to her (awful) chat show from the mid/late 2000s. I much prefer your interpretation though, very observant!
