Agree that was the best bit

fullofchocolatemoonfiend · 28/12/2007 15:29

really pissed off as I was very much enjoying it then went to sleep and missed the last 15 mins . Hope they are reeating it soon..

ArcticRoll · 29/12/2007 00:54

I was disappointed with it.
It was WAY too long.
No need to parody Big Brother-as it parodies itself.
I was expecting ending to be more hard edged- too much 'hugging and learning'( Seinfield)for me.
Having said that, George Michael's lines were brilliant-loved the lines about fly-tipping Annie Lennox's fridge.

RoxyNotFoxy · 29/12/2007 18:08

One laugh moment in the otherwise weak final part was where Andy's former agent thinks Andy's big speech was addressed to him. I must say I found Stephen Merchant one of the funniest things in the whole series. Goggle-eyed freak.

brusselbeansprouts · 29/12/2007 18:12

I thought a lot of it was good but pur-lease, that speech in the BB house. The arrogance of RG to think that he is telling us something new. Most of us normal folk know how sad slebs are which is why we are getting on living decent, useful lives and not chasing some pathetic dream.

By the end I was just fed up with the lot of them. Just how sad was I supposed to feel for Maggie because she had not succeeded in her dream of becoming famous?

noddyholder · 29/12/2007 18:33

I think you would be surprised how many 'normal' folk have no idea how/why the whole celeb thing works proven this xmas by my mum who drove us all mad going on about how x factor are just lovely peoploe ans haven't they done well blah blah

BooBooFlip · 29/12/2007 23:00

Does anyone know the title of the Morrissey song in the special? I've already downloaded that beautiful Kate Bush song but would love this one too ...

holidaywonk · 29/12/2007 23:05

Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want by The Smiths. Bloody marvellous.

jezzemxmas · 29/12/2007 23:07

It was brilliant. I had a HUGE grin on my face at the end

BooBooFlip · 29/12/2007 23:15

Thanks holidaywonk! I've got Hatful of Hollow so should've known that ...at least I can save myself 79p by not having to download it.

UnquietDad · 30/12/2007 14:17

Gervais is rather trying to have his cake and eat it. He seems as happy as anyone to buy into the whole "celeb" thing when it suits him.

LazyLinePainterJane · 30/12/2007 15:53

I enjoyed it, but it's just all so obvious. He has to hammer you with everything. Thought that the GM and GR cameos were OTT. Liked Dean Gaffney though and I do LOVE the fact that Barry is still called Barry.

Also agree with UQD.
