Anyone else watched this? I found myself coming over all "Men are from Mars, women are from Venus". Maybe I just have low expectations/am old but apart from Mau I found myself agreeing with the males and the trans woman.

I'm watching it weekly pace
I would have done a thread but then I thought mmm everyone will binge apart from me 🤣

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 17/01/2022 16:48

I'm watching series one now,I'm on episode three, love it apart from the therapists " mmm hmmmm" over and over again......Angry

Em2122 · 17/01/2022 19:24

Liked first season more than second. It was interesting and addictive, mau was a strange 1 though

Longcovid21 · 17/01/2022 19:25

Love it. I started a thread in relationships about it too 😁

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 17/01/2022 22:40

I binged it today and dh ended up watching it with me. It's so voyeuristic.

Paulo1 · 19/01/2022 12:18

I am watching it - it is a little addictive. I think some of the participants must have egos the size of planets and hides as thick as rhinos or else be naive I am currently on episode 5 - Series 1 DP cant stand it

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 19/01/2022 14:24

I've finished both series, feel totally bereft now, absolutely loved it.

HeronLanyon · 19/01/2022 18:54

Mrs P - me too!
I also watched both series straight through recently. Loved it. Thought provoking in some of the small moments. Took quite a bit from it. Always love to see when something blindingly obvious to others starts to be seen and sink in.

Thanks for responses :). @Longcovid21, not surprised to see that Mau is getting a pasting on your thread in Relationships. @Paulo1, I think you have a point when you say: "I think some of the participants must have egos the size of planets and hides as thick as rhinos or else be naive." I wonder what their family and friends make of it. I'm onto Series 2 where Covid has hit now.

It’s fascinating isn’t it and I think I learn things from it such as how the therapists view their work. Americans are so well versed in therapy talk - I wonder what a British version would be like?! Much quieter or mor shouting?!

Thischarmlessgirl · 27/01/2022 21:18

I’m a relationship therapist in the UK and most couples I see aren’t as well behaved or well versed in therapy talk. I’ve found it a really interesting watch Smile

Newgirls · 28/01/2022 07:58

I can imagine a British version to be very different. The Americans seem to have gone to work on issues in the marriage whereas I imagine Brits go when the marriage is almost over? At divorce. So further down the road. But that might be reading too much mumsnet

ILoveHuskies · 28/01/2022 07:59

This sounds amazing 😳

Italiangreyhound · 20/02/2022 11:29

I've just started watching it and May is so annoying, I must skip to couple number 2.
