Just wanted to recommend this. New take on vampires. Hamish Linklater is just superb in it.

DH and I really enjoyed it. Apart from the cat bit

Just started the other day, 3 episodes in.Very strange, very slow but really enjoying it. Some great performances - agree that Hamish Linklater is a standout. Great soundtrack too!

I also enjoyed this a lot, I thought it was just going to be the usual Haunting of Bligh Manor nonsense but there was a lot more to it, I thought.

Best show I've seen in my life. Saw it a year ago and it's constantly in my thoughts.

It really is excellent. I saw it ages ago, but it has stayed with me. I have just finished The Midnight Club, which was OK, but had some of the cast from Midnight Mass in it and made me remember how much better Midnight Mass was.

I realise this thread is old, but I have only just come across Midnight Mass - not sure how it went under my radar. I have only watched two episodes and it feels like it could go off in any direction. Wondering if the new priest is either the Monsignor but younger or has somehow absorbed his memories - he seems to know who everyone is. He has brought something with him in that box - monster, demon, vampire, etc? that's flying around at night and cleared up the little island's stray cat population (I didn't like that part!) and now the drug dealer. But he seems to have performed a miracle. It's unsettling and very well done.

Is he sticking something in the church wine? The improvements are in people who take the sacraments and there was that bit in the first episode where the water and wine had already been set up so the altarboys didn't have to do it - which seemed an odd point to put in.
