I find it irritating that Lord sugar bragged about the fact that in the 1980s amstrad (??) Made over 1500 games. I bet he had absolutely sod all to do with the concept, graphics, characters, branding or spelling of any of them! And I'm not sure why his opinion on a computer game is massively relevant when I'd imagine he's pretty far from the target market.

That's why I think the whole thing is skewed because most successful business people are good at one (or maybe a couple) things. I can't imagine Minecraft , call of duty etc* was created with the concept, brand, animation, name etc all by 6 people (with no experience) in 48 hours.
Sometimes the simpler tasks play to their strengths.

*my knowledge of computer games is very clearly very limited!!

Also, Sophie went to a very selective grammar school. I would think her geography and English teachers are preparing to disown her.

I do hope we get to see what Kathryn sells in her pyjama shop. Of course it is the rule on You're Fired that you turn up looking as different as possible to the way you looked on the show. Francesca didn't seem to agree with Karren's analysis at all so I actually think it was the right decision to fire her. What amazed me was that I didn't really remember Thomas from 2019.

I actually like Tom Allen. The programme had really gone downhill but he has turned it around.

@WheresYourSnickers where are you watching the old series please, if you dont mind me asking? DS loves The Apprentice (his first year watching it) and would really enjoy earlier series.

I just googled them, usually watch on a site called dailymotion. In not in UK, but I presume they're on BBC iplayer if you are?

Eh? Her team won the task and the investors liked the character. I thought the character looked great.

Artists usually base characters on real people and they might use themselves if their appearance fits the bill.

Artic Saviour. Didactic game featuring Sam the Scientist killing baddies saving animals in the Artic, as they spelled it, including penguins...

VS

Time. Prison breakout featuring a character based on Kathryn and a race against the clock. A bit samey but infinitely better as a concept.

Colour me cynical, I also think Siralan already knows who he really wants to invest in, probably has a list from least likely to most likely, which deviates a little but generally if he can get rid of one he will.

I finally caught up yesterday. That was TRAGIC with a capital T. I did not expect Francesca to get fired though although it was her design mostly, I suppose.

Been away this week so just caught up on this thread.

I was surprised Francesca went. I had her down for the final. She seemed to be a strong character, willing to say her piece, although not always likeable.

I was fascinated in the boardroom how the pink lipstick perfectly matched the pink dress.

I do think the calibre of the candidates changed when they went from being an apprentice to business partner. It also changed who could be fired. If two candidates are equally bad, then the person with the poorer idea will get fired.

I am sorry Francesca went. Brittany should have been sent home for devising that yawningly worthy game. Though not knowing how to spell Arctic is pretty bad!

I am impressed by Harpreet. She has ideas and knows how to talk herself out of trouble when she loses it. Akeem was useless as always.

Francesca's downfall was that she bulldozered over the others and didn't listen. Suralan doesn't like it when people don't listen- especially if they then argue back. She even disagreed with Karren when presented with the reasons for her getting fired.

dillite you are right that some of it is all about what Sugar thinks. I feel a bit sorry for Karen because I wonder if she disagrees with him and if she can ever say she does!

I think Francesca will go far, I hope so. She didn't waste her time in the cab saying how she would prove Sugar wrong, she just said she was looking for investors.
