In the Wild West episode (episode 7) Abigail tries to send two telegrams. Only one was sent before the wire was cut.

Did we ever find out who the second telegram was for? I can't think who else she could have wanted or needed to send a telegram to, other than the one that got through to the Reform Club.

I'm starting to think it was rather sloppy writing to indicate that there was trouble coming to town, which is basically what the telegraph wire operator said, but that had surely already been established.

I watched the final episode hoping to find out who the other telegram was intended for/what the message said, but it wasn't addressed.

I think it was another message to the Reform club that they were all of them alive. Or something like that. The first one didn't give all the details.

The message that got through to the reform club was something like "reports exaggerate... all are alive", so Fortescue knew that both Fogg and his daughter were alive (he doesn't know about Passportout travelling with them, I don't think?)

I've just re-watched the relevant bits from the episode and it's probably nothing more than Abigail wanting to file another story for the newspaper (she glances at her notebook when she says there's something else she wants to send).

What is this on please? Sounds interesting.

The second message was the one to her dad saying not to tell Bellamy. There was a max length on telegrams so she couldn't fit it all on one message.
