Did anyone see this, was on BBC2. I really liked her - she is smart, intelligent and really witty. Has had a rollercoaster of a life. I loved how well she stood up for herself when faced with sexist dinosaurs of chat show hosts in the 70s and 80s - she told them what's what, but with beautiful manners!! What a woman.

Oops, just realised I misspelled her name in the title - Joan Collins, of course.

Thanks for the recommendation. I've just watched most of it , really enjoyed it. IPlayer malfunctioned, I'll finish it tomorrow. She's certainly a survivor.

absolutelynotfabulous · 09/01/2022 12:19

Awesome woman. Funny, witty, kickass and a survivor. And impossibly glam of course.

MsTSwift · 09/01/2022 12:38

Watched by accident really enjoyed. Fascinating the way her life had such ups and downs - superstar when young then actually quite broke then superstar again. Some of her husbands were dreadful though - rapists and thieves.

sweatervest · 09/01/2022 15:07

i really loved it. i love that sort of programme. plot free and lots of glitter.
there are so many joan collins things though at the moment - her book, piers morgan programme, that programme. it seems like all of her eulogies at once (to me)

Nitgel · 09/01/2022 15:12

Was really interesting especially when she went to Hollywood. She has been in some shockers but always plays well. I remember one film where she was killed by a Tree Grin. Still she is encouraging me to embrace glam a bit more.

Inkanta · 09/01/2022 18:49

Yes she is so easy to listen to. Never boring. Really enjoyed this.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 11/01/2022 12:22

Really enjoyed this. What a life! Such a beautiful woman. I didn’t know she had three children.

Some shocking husbands. Actual rapists and crooks. Wow. She’s a strong woman.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 11/01/2022 13:00

I really enjoyed watching it. Would thoroughly recommend watching another BBC documentary about her sister, Jackie Collins.

Puffinhead · 11/01/2022 15:16

I watched it too. She’s an old school Hollywood star - one of the last left (or maybe the only one?). Oozes glamour! I also saw the Jackie documentary one too which was also really interesting - and sad, she didn’t tell Joan or anyone she was dying.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 11/01/2022 16:12

I got the decided impression, from watching the Jackie Collins documentary, that the sisters were like chalk and cheese.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 11/01/2022 16:52

Is the Jackie Collins documentary on iplayer?

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 11/01/2022 17:17

It certainly was last weekend @DobbyTheHouseElk!

Ooh thank you.
NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 11/01/2022 17:40

It was very poignant, particularly when her three daughters were interviewed Sad.

CaroleFuckingBaskin · 11/01/2022 17:46

Really enjoyed it

megletthesecond · 11/01/2022 17:47
