Anyone watching? Confused

Are there new episodes, or is it a repeat?

redpickle · 04/01/2022 21:47

Yeah, hoping the work away woman doesn't rinse poor Alex of his life savings. Anyone else get that vibe?

Gastonia · 04/01/2022 21:53

YES! That's what I just said to DH!

foxessocks · 04/01/2022 21:53

Every time I think it can't get weirder it does!

Diddytv · 04/01/2022 21:55

Ben fogle looks like he is trying to listen but struggling to keep a straight face at times

applespearsbears · 04/01/2022 21:55

Yup! Two damaged people opening a spiritual retreat...

Alex seems lovely

redpickle · 04/01/2022 22:04

I find it a bit annoying the way Ben Fogle always digs for the X factor sob story and makes a bigger deal of it than the host. It feels like he pushes that agenda quite a lot. Obviously Alex has had sad times but maybe he's actually quite happy with his new life and not just running away from his issues.

LookslovelyinSpringtime · 04/01/2022 22:10

Ben always plays on the ‘you must be so lonely without a partner ‘ thing too. Annoying.

Nitgel · 04/01/2022 22:15

It got dodgy when that woman turned up.

Nitgel · 04/01/2022 22:15

Poor bloke should stick with the goat man.

Sportslady44 · 05/01/2022 14:28

watching later on.

NatashaBedwouldbenice · 05/01/2022 20:56

I'm only part-way through but I think Ben's questioning is out of order.

NatashaBedwouldbenice · 05/01/2022 21:10

I've watched it after Ira's appearance. Fucking hell.

VioletLemon · 08/01/2022 13:47

Oh yes. Manipulator and boring AF.
Full of shit in a massive way.

LookslovelyinSpringtime · 11/01/2022 23:32

Tonight’s episode was lovely.

wolfstarling · 11/01/2022 23:37

Ah I enjoy it and have worked my way through all 16 series. Just about to tune into tonight's episode.

I am really tempted to escape to a remote Scottish island when the DC have flown the nest!

HonMayo · 12/01/2022 00:47

In tonight's programme the Austrian/German couple looked like they live in the middle of nowhere but they're only a couple of miles from the very busy county town.

We don't know their dynamic, but it doesn't make her look good. A woman who turns up an sort of announces that they're meant to start a retreat together, on a plot of land he owns, a man who has been though a lot of trauma and might be lonely too.....and she was told this by her akashic record guides, or something. :/

EarthSight · 12/01/2022 22:20

@HonMayo

I don't know that area, but these days the definition of 'Wild' in New Lives in the Wild is more like -

'Middle Class New Lives in the Countryside in an eccentric/eco house'

EarthSight · 12/01/2022 22:23

@redpickle

I don't this show is particularly bad on that front, because the reason why an awful lot of these people have made such drastic life decisions is because of trauma or negative experiences in their past. The stories of the people are quite an important part of the show too by now, especially if the 'wild' isn't that wild and mainly consists of a bit of off grid living close to a town or village.
EarthSight · 12/01/2022 22:25

I don't this show is particularly bad on that front, compared with other reality TV shows*

purpleme12 · 16/01/2022 15:12

I didn't enjoy watching these people or this episode as much as the others
