I saw a photo of him the other day and to be honest he looked like he has had some not very good plastic surgery, but maybe it is just his natural face and I'm being unkind

No, he's not creepy. He's one of the few people on TV actually worth watching.

I find him a bit creepy too, though I think that's just how he comes across on tv, not how he is really. I agree with the post that suggests it's something to do with his face.

I find his manner a bit annoying but he sure knows his stuff. Creepy? Not at all.

I think he's great but I get the creepy thing. I think it's the rictus smile and the tight shiny skin. He always looks like he's had some buttery spaghetti because his chin always looks shiny and greasy!

I think he’s great. So passionate about what he does. Lovely man.

I always wonder how good he is at his subject. I'm no astrophysicist but I'm an academic and the media-savvy profs in my discipline are very good at getting exposure and being seen as THE expert but their actual research work isn't that good.

I find him creepy! Always have. Something feels a bit fake about him, or at least he has a tv persona, which is understandable. Nice to know I'm not the only one. But I guess it's just a personal reaction as he's clearly harmless and good at what he does.

@Mittenmob someone very very close to me did his phd at the same time. Didn't have a good word to say about him either academically or personally. This person was usually very generous of spirit and not one to bitch.

However my cousin was involved in a girls in science programme a few years ago and he was very kind and supportive

I saw him In sainburys in cheadle once he did t look as shiny maybe it's the lighting? Or make up? I've seen him at a theatre too but fell asleep so can't comment on his shininess that day.

I personally don't but dh does, thinks his face is weird and that his had work done.

No. It's the fondling invisible breasts thing he does with his hands. And the rictus grin much beloved of evangelical religious zealots as they knock on your door. I have to not look at him but just listen as I love the subject matter but he's been giving me the heebs for decades now.
