I loved that series too! It’s a bit more biting comedy but Schitts Creek is amazing if you haven’t seen it.

Also sweet magnolias on Netflix might also be your cup of tea. Similar in style to VR

Think I’m going to try Chesapeake shores next. I need that level of wholesomeness to keep me going just now.

Heartland is also good but quite horse heavy, lots of relationship/life stuff alongside it though

Is Sweet Magnolias a series or a film? I've got in mind a film with Julia Roberts and Dolly Parton??

It was a film I think but is now a series. Don't think they're related. It ends on a real cliff hanger. Series 2 must be due!

I couldn't get on with Sweet Magnolias or Chesapeake Shores. I binged Pose and also watching Pretty Little Liars which I'm really enjoying both on I player.

This is Us is way better.

That's Steel Magnolias.

Pretty Little Liars is entertaining for awhile and then becomes total nonsense and the ending is a total farce

Gilmore girls is equally cosy and comforting, if you haven't already seen it.

I agree with Heartland. It’s very comforting in these edgy times.

The film was steel magnolias. I don’t know if the series is related at all?

Chesapeake Shores is similar to Virgin River.
Heartland is also “family viewing”.

Frankly I found the first two cloyingly sweet and the artificial flowers drove me crazy.

"Heartland" is great. My horse-mad daughter and I binge-watched it together.

"This is Us" and "Parenthood" were also similarly addictive family series

Anne with an E is great (remake of Anne of Green Gables) - lovely, sweet & feel good.

I enjoyed Sweet Magnolia too & love This is Us.

I’ve been watching the magnificent Mrs Maisel on prime. That’s pretty good, I’m enjoying it. I also really enjoyed Superstore on Netflix.

The Marvellous Mrs Maisel is such a good show! I love it!
