Anyone else watching?

I just love the idea that he must have played that game where you think 'what celebrities would you have to dinner?' only because he is Heston he actually got them to come. Terry Wogan ffs!

He must be a Withnail fan to have wanted Richard E Grant.

Only me watching Heston then

The rest of MN is no doubt pessimistic about getting any good tips to make your Christmas easy and stress-free off him

Well, dh is watching it and I'm half watching it. Think he is most peculiar actually.

Kathyate6mincepies · 19/12/2007 20:26

I'm watching it, dh is half watching it, and ds (12 months) is glued to the screen with his mouth open going 'A! A!' (That's right my boy, you grow up to be a chef.)

But he's more like a chemist than a chef tonight. All these substances.....

Raahh · 19/12/2007 21:01

loving this- and following myearlier thread- his hair/no hair thing srill fascinates me..

he's like the ani-Nigella..

Raahh · 19/12/2007 21:02

anti

noddyholder · 19/12/2007 21:02

gorgeous

nannyj · 19/12/2007 21:07

I'm thinking that when he's at home he shaves his head everyday but when in Siberia he can't be bothered and lets it grow a bit. Food looked amazing though .

pud1 · 20/12/2007 09:22

as the pearson that started the heston wtf thread last week i am still left asking myself the same question. at least this one did not involve a squirel trap

Kathyate6mincepies · 20/12/2007 09:24

The slebs did seem to be enjoying it though, didn't they?

OP posts:
CremolaFirCone · 20/12/2007 09:25

pud1 · 20/12/2007 09:28

Kathyate6mincepies · 20/12/2007 09:30

"Flaming sorbet my arse. Bring me a proper Christmas pud with Birds custard!'

OP posts:
pud1 · 20/12/2007 09:38

you could eat it with a spoon wittled out of holly

SueBaRoomForAMincePie · 20/12/2007 12:16

I watched it, but I'm afraid as much as everyone on screen tells me it tastes wonderful, it just looked like he put cuckoo spit on the duck breast.

nannyj · 20/12/2007 12:47

I dread to think how much it cost to make that programme. It's a good thing the licence fee is high .

Kathyate6mincepies · 20/12/2007 12:55

That;s true NannyJ!

And it does make me feel rather like a Victorian street urchin standing outside a frosty window watching the rich people eat inside.

Anyone up for coming to back door of the Fat Duck with me to hang around and hold out my empty cap and go 'Spare any scraps guv?'

DH is plotting a Hesty Xmas lunch (luckily no guests so doesn't matter how long it takes). He was going thru the book the other night chuckling and occasionally calling out the lists of ingredients.

One of them included a rabbit, squirrel or hamster cage .

Am stocking up on frozen pizzas just in case he never returns from the kitchen.....

moondog · 20/12/2007 13:06

Mumble,what will he cook then?

I remember Heston in the Observer a few years ago going on about how great caviar tasted with white chocolate.

Yeah, right.

Worse still, my neighbour did it with the divine caviar dh had brought back for her from Kiev.

mumblechum · 20/12/2007 13:12

Don't know what the plan is. When I asked, he tapped the side of his nose in a slightly worrying manner.

I don't care tbh as long as I don't have to do anything (I cook all the time except Xmas and holidays)

moondog · 20/12/2007 13:13

Oh my God!

Please report back then. Am dying to konw.
Can he cook then?

hannahsaunt · 20/12/2007 13:17

I have this recorded still to watch and am gleefully anticipating having loved the recent series. I'm guessing Terry Wogan was there as he always refers to HB as Heston Bloomin'Heck on his radio 2 show. Would love to do the Fat Duck one day.

pud1 · 20/12/2007 13:22

lol at cukoo spit

mumblechum · 20/12/2007 13:30

Moondog, he can cook but very very slowly.

We've been to the fat duck & it was really amzing.
