Do the strictly couples stay in touch?

They all say they've got a friend for life but is it true? Do they stay in touch with one another?

I very much doubt it. Maybe a couple do but not many I wouldn't imagine.

I think they might think now that they will be the professionals move on every year with someone else.

Frankie Bridge said on Loose Women about how fabulous the whole experience is and you feel so close and like you'll be friends forever but then the next season comes around, they get a new celebrity and you never hear from them again. She said it in a fun way (she wasn't bitter or anything) but definitely the impression was that it was great whilst it lasted but then when the job was done, you don't see those ex-colleagues again!

I imagine some do stay close, but think that's few and far between!

Haha good point. Maybe a text at Christmas but I wouldn’t have thought they were all friends for life.

I wouldn't think so. Once they're not together all day every day, they'll go back to their jobs/lives then the pro dancer gets a new partner the next year and so it goes on.

Obviously the couples do (and there are quite a few Rachel/Pasha Flavia/Jimmi Kristina/Joe Kevin/Stacy Joe/Diane and even though they werent partnered Gorka/Gemma).

I always get the impression Ian Waite and Zoe Ball keep in touch

I know most of the bake off contestants stay in touch but I guess none of them are famous

I know that Zoe went to Ian Waite’s wedding.

I think that some strong friendships are formed amongst the celebs. Judge Rinder has stayed in touch with Greg Rutherford - he mentioned this on the radio the other day . I guess that’s like any other workplace though.

A lot of contestants on reality shows say there’s a group WhatsApp for a while after.

I’m sure it’s like any other work colleagues- some will stay in touch and some won’t.

I'm sure I've read that Anton is still very good friends with Kate Garraway.
I guess it depends on the individuals, some people are better at staying in touch than others.
Gio looks at Rose like he loves her but I suspect that's a big part of his charm. When he looks at you like that, there's no way you can resist!!
I think John and Johannes will stay friends, don't know why.

Some do, I know Susan Calman put up some photos on Instagram with Kevin Clifton when he was up in Scotland for a work thing they met up.

I guess it depends if they live close together or have work schedules that means they can meet up.

Janette and Julien McDonald are still really good friends, they seem to meet up a lot socially.

I'm sure a small minority do stay in touch but I think the "friend for life" thing is largely bollocks.

Johannes is still friends with his first Strictly partner Catherine and I think that he and John will definitely keep in touch. Katya said that she is still in touch with some of her dance partners and sees Ed Balls as a UK father figure which I thought was really sweet! Sara will stay friends with everybody I think!

I think some of them do, not all of them, it just feel like it's true after such an intense experience, until you go back to your real life! I remember seeing photos of Chris and Rosie Ramsey our for dinner with Karen Hauer and her partner, months and months after their series finished!

mrstea It must be terrible to be 'papped' or smart phone filmed or snapped when you're out for a meal, they pay a price for the fame.

I did get the feeling that Gio feels more strongly for Rose than she feels for him but that might be her good acting because of her BF who could be jealous.

I remember a while ago seeing that Karen Hardy and Bill Turnbull regularly did a charity thing together. Don’t know what’s happened since he got ill though
