Gutted for Liam, I wanted him to win.

I cried for poor Liam, that was brutal. In the end though, Dan was going to win despite what happened.

I have been looking at all the Instagram accounts this morning. Everyone congratulating and thanking each other (including Marcus and Monica) except Greg. I can't even see a mention of the series let alone the final. It's all me me me. Knob.

Lurker here. I usually read your funny comments after the show.Came on to say how awful Marcus was to allow the cling film piece to be filmed. Should have left it out of the programme and just said something about lack of seasoning etc. Marcus smiled as he broke Liam. I loathe Marcus now. Poor Liam, he is very young, talented and worked so hard. Monica tried to make up for it but couldn’t.

Hope regulars don’t mind me coming on, I am so cross about it, it was unnecessarily cruel to put it in the programme. I don’t know Liam or anything.

I just had a quick look at Liam’s Instagram and he’s posted since last night saying he’s excited for the future ❤️ Now on just over 750 comments from people saying how proud he should be of himself (and one saying that if he left a severed finger in a Thai curry they’d still eat it )

Oh, and there’s a hilarious Twitter thread about an article in the Times headed ‘what Christmas looks like at Greggggg Wallace’s house’. Twitter response: ‘nobody fucking cares?’

@TrueGrit54 I have some sympathy with that view. However it is a competition and that is what he served. There was also something directly related to the food that he left.

Liam is young but chose to do competitions (and did brilliantly).

Bagadverts I’m usually a tough hard ass but I hated seeing it. I take your point about it’s a competition but I do not forgive Marcus, he looked too happy doing it! Good to hear Liam is buoyant on his Instagram. Thanks all.

Just caught up on the final (sorry to have missed it with everyone).
Can't believe Liam biffed like that.
Was really happy for Dan, thought he did the smartest menu, Aaron cooked his way but a bit too safe for the final.
Three lovely finalists, no pretentious wankers or foragers.

I'm sure Liam meant the clingfilm for Gregg as a choking hazard.

I liked Aaron's main for the final. Steak and chips and he even made his own newspaper for the chips. I thought it quirky and fun. So once Liam messed up ( a bit rushed I expect and didn't have time to check) then I wanted Aaron to win. Dan didn't really do much for me.

I've never liked Marus, I love Michel Roux Jr. Poor Liam was utterly humiliated but Marcus looked like the poorer person.
