I was supposed to be treating him to a Christmas meal at the weekend. He’ll be lucky to get a Greggs pasty now Grin

Lol. But they will be getting close to their acting friends

Tho guess breaking the bubble

Which will break tonight once in the hotel they all stay in

I was disappointed that Simon didn't win, but he took it really well.

I didn't enjoy watching the trials, as I don't like the way they treat live creatures, or watching people eat revolting things. Thinking about it, I will probably swerve this series next year, as I spent half the time looking away really. I enjoyed A and D's humour, and David was an interesting character, but most of it was not my thing.

the80sweregreat · 13/12/2021 06:37

A and D always wear (almost) matching clothes ! Smart and stylish, but the matching thing does amuse me! I'm easily pleased.
It wasn't a classic this year and the wrong one won it, but ' what time is it' ? Is now an 80s saying and it is fascinating seeing people's characters change as the hunger sets in !

PrincessScarlett · 13/12/2021 07:42

Pleased for Danny but very surprised that he won over Simon. I too found it very odd that winning would provide security for his son. What's happened to all his wages from Emmerdale? Surely he earned a decent amount on Emmerdale, certainly more than the average person who all manage to raise kids on meagre salaries 🤷🏻‍♀️ Just seemed such a random thing to say.

Roussette · 13/12/2021 07:45

I just don't like someone saying I'm just here for the money. We know that's probably the case for many of them (not all... I feel Louise was doing it for the experience) but I don't want it said out loud really.

the80sweregreat · 13/12/2021 09:25

At least he was honest about it.
Many are in it for money and to re invent their careers. We all know this!
I didn't like Danny much , but to be honest about his intentions made a change.

bonfireheart · 13/12/2021 09:48

Good on him for being honest and wanting to do it for his son, but also I do think he did it for the experience cos his friends Adam Thomas have done it, and even Frankie said he's grown up watching it and winning would mean a lot to him. No one really eats penises on live TV unless it's for the money rather than the experience.

Roussette · 13/12/2021 10:12

Awww Steve on This Morning. Says he coasted it really because he's an idiot!
He hasn't seen his wife for a month!

Is he pissed?
Roussette · 13/12/2021 10:22

I thought he was great, but I am a fan

I think his hand was forced by the criticism he got for doing it so soon after his wife had given birth (I know I raised an eyebrow!) I think people were more understanding once he’d pointed out that it gave him the opportunity to take a longer break from work - short-term sacrifice for long-term gain.
Roussette · 13/12/2021 10:56

That's true, yes sort of get that. but do wonder what he's done with all his money fro emmerdale lol

bonfireheart · 13/12/2021 11:04

He might have got paid well on emmerdale but he could easily earn months and months of salary on I'm A Celeb.. heard a d list celeb saying that going on the shown helped them to buy their house so they do pay silly money, esp as he has good odds since day 1 so they were expecting him to be a potential winner. And until not long ago he was/is a young man with no responsibility so spent his money as he wanted to and now has baby has to think longer term.

MrsFin · 13/12/2021 12:43

I'd be quite happy for DH to take himself off for a month just after I'd had a baby, if it meant he'd bring home several years worth of wages when he did come back.

JacquelineCarlyle · 13/12/2021 12:48

I wondered that too @Fatgalslim - seemed very odd. Not really helped by Vernon and Josie not being great interviewing him!

Fatgalslim · 13/12/2021 13:13

@JacquelineCarlyle, I think he must be. The way he was talking about the cow's vagina, hairy, coming etc., he wouldn't say that normally. I've heard him interviewed before and he's always come across as professional. Those comments along with the time it took to get a sentence out makes me think he had a lot to drink last night lol - even Vernon seemed shocked at first and he's no angel!

JaneJeffer · 13/12/2021 13:26

I saw on another thread last night that anyone who watches this is fucking stupid so that's us told.

I still think someone had a word in Danny's ear during the storm break and nothing will convince me otherwise but well done to him for playing the game! He has some hardcore fans who can turn a blind eye to anything that doesn't paint him in the perfect light.

JacquelineCarlyle · 13/12/2021 13:31

I completely agree @JaneJeffer re someone speaking to Danny during the storm break as he came back in a different person.

That said, my DCs all loved him & said I was wrong to think this - the difference was due to not being grumpy after being in the clink!

And here's Danny saying about leaving the hotel without asking permission Hmm
Simon is so funny.

Wonder how much he got paid for the 5w

Totally agree, he was like a different person.

Guess it came down to the soap fans, and Emmerdale won!

Simon really didn't seem that bothered though, which I actually think was nice.

Ilovefluffysheep · 13/12/2021 15:13

Sorry. meant to say Simon didn't seem that bothered whether he won or not, and also seemed genuinely happy for Danny.

StormyCornishSeas · 13/12/2021 22:52

Was anyone else at a bit of a loss at what to watch this evening. Because I'm a celeb wasn't on
