Oh good. Seems okay, pretty much what we're used to, even 2 annoying and unfunny comedians presenting and a Prue-alike. Mondays 5.30 More 4 or streamed All4.

I have just started watching today.

It's a bit odd how it so closely mimics the original. I wonder if it's in the licence agreement.

BonnesVacances · 07/12/2021 21:43

We've watched the first episode. When was it filmed if it's dark on the second day? And why is it in a shed and not a tent?

Also, aren't the Aussies much happier than us miserable Brits! The judges, in particular Prue mkII was very animated and upbeat. I didn't think the standard was as high as the British version though.

BishyBarnyBee · 07/12/2021 22:34

It's Aussie winter, I think, and gets dark.very early. They are all wearing a lot of clothes, it must be quite chilly in the tent.

I've seen a few episodes before, I like Matt and Maggie. They are definitely kinder than Paul and Pru!

Agree with Bonnesvacances re the standard and am pleased as the UK version seems to be more style than substance a lot of the time now. I am enjoying the outside shots with the interesting birds & flowers. Aussie contestants seem more content & less likely to have all the tears & over emotional stuff that seems to be required by the UK contestants now.

MimiDaisy11 · 09/12/2021 21:25

I like the presenters in the Australian version much more than the British version.

I watched the 1st episode on all4, the BBC worldwide screen came on at the end.

Bread week very good. Liked most of the tear & share ideas for the showstoppers. Lovely how the contestants are helping each other out too. So far enjoying this much more than the UK version but probably biased as I am not keen on one of the UK judges & either of the uK presenters.

HelloMist · 17/12/2021 21:22

I'm enjoying this. Great distraction from real life at the moment. I've just got up to British week!

The presenters (and their jokes) are a little annoying but the contestants are likeable and interesting, as are the bakes. I feel like there are some techniques and designs I haven't seen on gbbo which keeps it interesting.

Maireas · 17/12/2021 22:50

I'm enjoying this. The challenges are interesting, and the contestants really diverse. Chris is a revelation, and I really like Barb, Claudia and Raeesa.
Enjoyable and light-hearted, less angsty than the GB one.
