Neighbours always has a two week break at christmas (and easter and during wimbledon) because it's part of the contract that the BBC has to stay a certain number of episodes behind australia. I think it's only on twice a week over there so balance up, the bbc have to have break several times a year.

DS missed last Friday's episode and was not impressed to see it replaced with repeats of Cash in the Flaming Attic on instead.
