That’s my thought. I certainly found the subplot about Berlin, his son and his pianist wife stealing the Viking gold a lot less engaging.

But as any spin off will have to be set in the past, anyway, maybe the Professor will be in it and/or some of the others? Marseilles was in the past subplot, so clearly some characters have a longstanding association with Berlin…?

Phew ! Virgin outages much of yesterday in my area and Netflix still unavailable at bedtime.
But all good this morning - settled on sofa and about to watch Season 5, Episode 6 …..

I was wondering how on earth the writers were going to get around a situation where Alicia Sierra was suddenly on the same team as Rio, whom she'd tortured -- but they clearly dealt with it by not ever putting them in the same place.

I was wondering why she wasn't jetting off in the helicopter with the others, but then of course they were all officially 'dead', and as far as Tamayo was concerned, she was just a fired cop. The policia had no idea she'd tracked down the Professor, far less that she was the one who recuperated the gold. The Professor gave her a passport in a new identity, and presumably she would get a share of the loot?

Just for a moment I thought the helicopter was going to blow up, glad there was a happy ending 😜

I was rather surprised how easily Rafael and Tatiana settled for a share of the gold , rather than all of it .
Couldn’t imagine his father doing that ….
