Well, just watched today's episode, having missed Tue-Thus last week. Didn't feel as though I had actually missed anything. Has Ruhma made Pregnant Lady from last week into a pet project?

Ahah grass. Have an unmumsnetty hug. Mine went three years ago. DS bought our old house so when we moved we left him in it. DD was coming to the new house with us whilst she saved for a house but then her partner got the job in F1 and they moved to Milton Keynes. It literally happened within 2 weeks. For the first time ever DH and I were on our own and to say it was weird is an understatement (DS was 8 months when we met)

Three years on I couldn't live with children. DD comes to stay but there is palpable relief when she's gone after I've spent a weekend seemingly cleaning up after her.

Don't see it as an empty nest but an opportunity. You've done it, you've raised independent functioning (ish) people and its time to enjoy yourself a bit now.

Aww thanks, KilledbyWitches ... sounds as though your DD isn't far from us! Ours was not the usual nest-emptying scenario - the eldest chick of 4 fledged some time ago but the two middle ones both stayed at home and worked for a couple of years before leaving for uni, so we thought DC4 might do the same but instead he upped sticks and left to take up a job away from home at the same time as DC3 left for uni. The house is suddenly very empty (even if relatively tidy )... so it's all still a bit raw. DC2 recently visited to help decorate the tree and talked about the things they all made as kids (and even unearthed some of them) and this popped into my head in that scene with Immie and Gobby. It's so bittersweet finding stuff like that origami book! My main worry is that one of us will get Covid and, even if it's a mild case, and with all blessings duly counted, a family Christmas will have to be cancelled yet again ...

Christmas is the worry isn't it. Hopefully nothing changes now. Obviously we'd prepared for DS to go as it was planned but like yours DD was a bit of a shock and took a while to get used to.

Everything crossed for all of us now that we can get to it without positive tests or Boris intervening.

doctors thankyou. I hate going to the dentist at the best of times, but I think I'm losing my front tooth, and it's really bothering me.

OT but @Raahh if you do lose it, it's not the end of the world. I lost a front incisor about 3 years ago (I have awful teeth due to a medical issue) and I was beside myself. I hated the plate, couldn't enjoy food. I then paid for a cobalt chrome plate and it was life changing. The only teeth I worry over losing now are the two that the plate grips on to.
