can some one explain to me about x factor (dont look if dont know the results yet)

why did Leon win?

I know there is a big x factor thread, but my posts get lots in it lol

Am I so old that I cant appreciate a nice looking lad with a nice voice......

But..... no performance at all, can only move side to side and was boring to watch

and probably 100's of others can sing like him?

was it just the teenage girls voting for him?

Rhydian was a totally different class to him and I know he will still do really well, but for Leon to win

and Louis.....agggghhhh, if he said once more about scotland versus England, and come on scotland get behind Leon, come on you welsh, I was going to go there and hit him!!!!!!!

well, I reckon in about 6 months, you will be able to buy tickets for the Leon and Steve Brookstein show in your local shopping centre

well annoyed with the result!!!

and not to forget his Mum is a single Mum and brought him up all on her own!!

He mentioned that most weeks!

Im sure he is a lovely lad, just reminds me of a younger steve Brookstein.....nice bloke, nothing special

leon should not have made it as far as the final, and the fact he won was very wrong. I'm sure Rhyd will still have a career, and am very grateful he hasn'y got to be associated woith a terrible Mariah carey cover for the rest of his life.

Dare i say, and i hated them, i would rather sd had won, as at least they would have had a cheesy kiddie fan base to justify the million pound contract.

I don't actually know who Leons audience is- he is not experienced, or charismatic enough to pull off the 'swing' thing (like ray could last year).

was I asleep when Leon had his 'stage presence'??????

he literally look scared stiff (although that has improved) and could only move from one foot to the other

The biggest problem I had with the result is that LEON CAN'T SING IN TUNE!

Was I the only one watching last night who, on hearing the appalling mess Leon made of the single followed by Rhydian's note-perfect version, thought that Rhydian had the win in the bag?

But as others have said, Rhydian is better off not winning - he's had the chance to showcase his talent and hopefully will get a much better managed career than the winners seem to.

Who knows why people vote? Maybe people were nauseated by SD. Maybe people were put off by Rhydian's (perceived or otherwise) arrogance.

Maybe they just liked Leon. I liked Leon. I didn't vote but can understand why others did.

I know he is better off not wining, especially as he wont have to release that awful awful single!!!!

But still would have been nice for him to win!

Takes me back to my younger eurovision watching days ........"I'm never ever watching this again, "

he wasnt arrognat thoug was he, that was so edited in the beginning, he actually seemed a really nice guy

I suppose on younger forums they are all saying how brilliant Leon is, how cute he his etc etc!

not saying we are all oap'S but I suppose the majority on here have kids and are a little older than teenagers!!! and would appreciate Rydian more than Leon

I am 31 and much preferred Leon. My Mum is 61 and much preferred Leon. I could go on .....

It may not be an age thing.

It seems to be to do with whether you think the show is about talented singers or adequate but marketable singers. No one can disagree that Rhydian is far and away the best singer on the show whereas only the tone deaf could suggest that Leon is any better than adequate at singing. But for all sorts of reasons he is going to be far easier to market (and manipulate!) than Rhydian.

And Rhydian deserves much better than the kind of short-lived pop career he would get as X-Factor winner - he's not that kind of a singer at all. Whereas Leon seems perfectly suited to a Gareth-Gates style few months of hype and glory before fading back into obscurity.

i think its to do withthe fact that people voted for Kylie rather than him. I don't think she should have performed on her own as that will have affected the votes.

Altho, having said that i am glad that Rhydian didn't win. Now he can have the career he deserves rather than one that he can't change. He will do VERY well in a russell watson/west end type role rather than being pushed to be pop which he just can't do.

Leon will now get a million quid for someone to layer auto tune on his voice in the studio and maybe even have parts of it replaced by someone who can actually sing

Just been browsing news sites - apparently Lloyd-Webber is waiting in the wings to poach Rhydian for a remake of Phantom he's doing in the States. Obv can't tell if this is reliable or not but the report went on to say that Rhydian was keen to work with L-W. If he'd won, he'd have been tied in to Simon Cowell's production company for all eternity and wouldn't have got a chance to do musical theatre - which is what he should be doing, Mumofmonsters, you're right!

I didn't watch X Factor this year cos I'm soo fed up of the hype and there always seems to be a fix at the end or somewhere in between.

I just hope they don't get xmas no1 again, its becoming boring now.

Dannii M has already approached Lord LW for Rhydian - she specifically re the Phantom remake. DM mentioned this in a radio interview a few days ago.

Am I the only one that think that Nicci should have been in the final and won the xfactor. I think that more people would go out and buy her cd than Leons and I do agree that Rhydian would be better on broadway or in the west end.

I didn't watch it from about half way through the live shows as I thought they were all a bit crap.

To hear Leon won I am astounded. Was it 'world's most boring person' competition?

I think Rhydian was too good to win - he was such a class above everybody else.

I don't think Leon would have won if he hadn't dueted with Kylie.

And it was obvious the judges were biased against Rhydian.

I really hope he goes on to make a long-term name for himself.

(not even going to mention SD, what were they doing there?)

I watched some of the repeat this afternoon, and agree that while he might be a nice, cute, young guy, he can't sing in tune to save his life, and really shouldn't have won....

I think it was the Kylie duet that won it for him. I think Danny knew Rhydian was sorted with the L.W thing so used her sisiters splarkle to boost Leon.

Rhydian can sing. He will get work, make money. Leon is cute, eye candy for the record buying majority, ie teenage girls, who would buy anything if someone handsome was singing it.

So make the cutey pie win, regardless of talent and, hey presto, you've got double the money! Leon wouldn't have done anything career wise had he come second. He'll get one album and a single out of this, and Cowell will drop him like brick next year.
