the thing is that Rhydian will be ok. He'll get a career out of this (and lets face it, didn't look like HE had to work in the gap to make ends meet...)
this was Leon's only shot. and he can f*cking SING! (saw Ray from last year on songs of praise tonight. he was shit compared to Leon)

For a better life perspective, yes, Leon was right to win. For the better performer perspective and X factor which I thought it was all about, he didn't.

I just found it hard to believe that the best Britain could churn out was the final three! Same Difference, I'm sorry but why? Why would anybody want them to win? They're S**T! Neither of them can sing, they don't have strong voices, they're so cheesy, have more energy than a nuclear bomb, need I go on? Good on them, they're good kids entertainers - but that's it. They should not have been in the final fifty, let alone the final three, of what is supposed to be a talent contest.

Rhydian could sing, you can't take that away from him. But he's the guy who opens up a rugby match by singing the national anthem, he's not a popstar. Leon has a lot of potential, is still young, can sing, is cute blah blah blah. So I do think the right person won out of the final three. But compared to the last couple of winners, he barely scratches the surface. I think he'll do well though.

but Leon can't sing! I can't have been the only one wincing with embarrassment for him at the number of duff notes he hit. His inability to sing in tune was the only consistent thing about him. But I'm glad he won - hopefully Rhydian will be able to forge a decent career now without being tied into some horrendous contract. Because while they claim the show is about singing, it's actually about marketability, and Leon is far more malleable and marketable than Rhydian would be. So from Simon Cowell's perspective, I imagine the right person won. After all, it's easy enough to tune up his vocals electronically in the editing suite!

Leon won because Scottish people will vote for any old Scots tosh (remember Michelle McManus!).

I'm sooooo pleased Leon one - brilliant voice and a very genuine person (I totally agreed with Loius re SD) And Rhydian was excellent but played the part very well - after watching him on the auditions he was strutting around like a peacock half the time and full of self importance it was plainly obvious to me that somebody 'had a word' because overnight he became very humble and sickeningly grateful to be there each week - when I truly believe he showed his true colours during the audition stages when he seemed just a total t*sser !!
I really think Leon deserved it and hope he does really well

right so the population of the UK is 60,776,238. the population of Scotland alone is 5,062,011. and yet he won because of all the Scots voting for him??

yeah, it's true that scotland takes care of it's own but we can't make a winner on our own. we just don't have the population for it. surely if we had that much pull then the winner would always be scottish. last year there were 3 scots. one got to the final but didn't make the final 2.

Leon is who this whow is really for. People who are plucked from obscurity. No training. No stage school. Most of hte people you get on these shows these days are all from various stage/music schools and/or have been performing for years. This kid worked in the Gap.

Well done Leon. Lovely lad. So what if he cries? At least it shows he's a nice sensitive lad, I'd rather that than an 18 year old thug/hoodie type. Okay he milked his sob story a bit, but I think he genuinely really loves his Mum, wants to do well by her and isn't afraid to let the nation know it! Rhydian will do well anywhere, and actually, watching the final, I was beginning to think that Rhydian is getting a bit boring in that what he does is just the same all the time, the theatrical/operatic thing. Leon at least has a bit of variety about him, and I for one thought his duet with Kylie was brilliant. Lots of chemistry there.. go Leon! Leon may have had bad performances and even now bum notes but he is the most improved contestant and I was pleased for him.

If Rhdian had won, you can be assured that Radio Scotland/Borders/Tay/Forth/Clyde etc wouldn't be banning his single like all the Welsh radio stations are apparently doing to Leons single. Taking the meaning of Bad losers a bit too far if you ask me

I think out of the three of them he was the winner. But not a worthy, true winner, just the best of the finalists. In the final his singing was dreadful but I'm sure people who vote don't vote on the actual performance, just who they like.

Kylie's tights were pretty horrific though. They made her thighs look massive and she's tiny.
