Father Christmas is Back (Netflix) worst movie ever?!

Now I love a cheesy Christmas movie, they are formulaic and comforting, I have spent many a happy afternoon watching them during November and December. My standards are not high.

But this was beyond bad and not even in SO bad its good way, save yourself and don't watch!!

Not sure there is a more wooden actress than Liz Hurley and don't get me started on Caroline Quentin playing mother to a bunch of actors barely 5-10 yrs younger!!

Even I had to put Father Christmas is back off halfway through. So so bad. And not Christmas move good bad. Really really bad.

I’m fact it’s made me so sad I had to watch The Princess Switch 3. Which wasn’t as good as 1 and 2. And nowhere near as good as The Christmas Prince 1,2 or 3.

I watched this the other week when in the midst of covid fever. And even then i could tell it was awful.

Firstly, are liz hurley and Carolyn Quentin not about the same age?

Secondly, I don't think they introduced the surname Christmas at any point in the first half of the film. Which meant the whole gag of the title felt a bit odd.

It was utter, utter nonsense.

But I might watch again.

I gave up about 20 minutes in. Absolute bollocks

I'm challenging myself to watch a Christmas movie every day til Christmas Day 2 completed 🎅❤️

Me too! It was bloody awful!

Yep. Another one here who turned it off and I really will watch any old shite usually. But that was possibly the worst film I have ever seen.

Had to turn it off it was so grim. All of the acting was woeful, the script was pitiful and what I saw of the plot was paper thin.

Elf is total horror. The shots of Will Ferrell sitting on his tiny ‘father’s’ lap are deeply freaky.

It was horrendous. How it was so bad with the cast l have no idea. Was it shot in 1 day as a lockdown challenge with no script or plot just add libbed?

The Dolly Parton one. I think its called Christmas In The Square. I gave up on it 20 minutes in as it was sooo bad and the whole family were getting actually angry watching it. But then a week later I gave it another go on my own and was utterly charmed by it. Its so bad its good. I've thought about it often through the year and looking forward to settling down to watch it again soon.

Yep, and of course that meant kids left with slippers and control knickers while Gpa and fellow care home residents had fun with VR headset, scaletrix and an xbox, how original!

I am currently on a Netflix non stop Christmas binge-
Crown for Christmas-my current viewing pleasure ticks every single box on the "predictable christmas" bingo card and even I bailed on Father Christmas is back. Dire.

I would like to robustly defend Elf-brings unfettered joy to this household!!

Well saw it through to the end my god it was terrible nearly 2 hours of my life I'll never get back 😂
