I hope some of you have watched this because I have some questions

I watched it all last night and enjoyed it but have some queries!
So, do we assume that Marie ran off with Karl at the end? And Karl lied in court so that neither he nor Marie were forever associated with the name of a rapist?
I just thought it was gross that Marie ended up going from the frying pan to the fire. Karl stood outside Paul's caravan trailer waiting for him to stop raping that girl Rebecca! That was horrific. And now Marie is with that man!
Also, do we assume that the babysitter had consenting sex with Paul but it was the fact that she was 15 that was the issue? So the daughter knew her father had had sex with the babysitter but was pissed off that that took attention away from her??
It was all a bit strange I thought. I suppose it was good that it was realistic in that the rape victim got attacked in court and it was a not guilty verdict
