I’ve seen this before but I thought I needed to watch it again to fully understand it. I don’t Grin. I understand that the food on the platform is supposed to show the difference between the rich and the poor but..

What is the significance of the child? The person who was running it was adamant they have no children in there, and yet there they are.

Although I enjoyed watching it, I've no idea what it's all about.
Why was the child at the very bottom? Surely she would have starved to death as no food ever got that low.
I gathered that after a month on one level, everyone was gassed and moved to another level. Surely people would have remembered not having any food, on the lower levels and been more thoughtful when they were on a higher level?
Was it a prison or did people have to volunteer to get into it?
Think I'll have to watch it again

It’s a very confusing film isn’t it?

There were volunteers to go in, and others had to go in instead of going to prison.

Those who were at the bottom would gorge food whilst at the top because they would understand that they were starving when lower down and no one left food for them, so why do it for others.

It’s the child that gets me. The woman out right says, “no under 16’s in the tower” yet there’s a girl at the bottom of around 8(?) years old.

Why is she there?
How is she alive?
Why is she alone?
Why is she at the complete bottom?

I took that to be the point of the whole thing- everyone knew what it was like to be at the bottom, but if they were at the top they didn’t care.
Just like how you see rags to riches stories but the very wealthy do nothing to help others get on their feet.

BrownJenkins · 17/10/2021 14:46

Certainly easier and less violent ways of getting that point across.

I've seen it and found some parts very gory. Especially the flesh eating bit 🤮

Also didn't really understand the child bit but I'm guessing it's depicting a system where people at the top get everything handed to them whilst bottom feeders have to kill each other just for scraps.
