I have a longish journey coming up and would like to download some programmes to my iPad to watch. Does anyone have any good recommendations ? Comedy, documentary or dramas. Any suggestions gratefully received.

I'm just binging on The Bridge but I realise I'm a decade behind Grin

TheDogsMother · 13/10/2021 16:01

Thanks Geamhradh that looks like a gripping bit of Scandi Noir.

It's amazing. I have serious Scandi interiors envy now. Grin

I suspect I'm going to become all hygge and fair isles Grin

I keep having to rewind because I'm going "oh I love those earrings" " look at that light fitting" and missed 43 major clues Grin

Ridley road was excellent.

Alma’s Not Normal is a brilliant comedy - a real gem. There’s 6 x 30 mins episodes and I’ve binged twice.

SylviasMotherSaid · 13/10/2021 18:52

I love Ranganation and Motherland in the comedy sections .

If you like music and are perhaps as old as me and can remember "name that tune" then I recommend "the hit list" I've just discovered this and binge watched the lot - need to check it there's been a new episode since last week

I do pretty good unless it's 2010's onwards then I get stuck! But your musical knowledge may be more up to date than mine.

Not a huge fan of the hosts Rochelle in particular can be a bit wooden/awkward but I love the format I can ignore that

The final countdown round can get VERY tense! Rochelle IS right with her "catchphrase" that you will be yelling answers at them, especially in this round

It's also quite fun when the contestants try and portray themselves as Uber cool at the intro "I'm into trad jazz/indie rock really" and then they INSTANTLY know eg agadoo! Grin so it can be quite funny!

Other than that, clearly I like my quiz/game shows I also love

Mastermind

Uni challenge
Only connect
House of games is easier/lighter but still very entertaining

History - social history like WDYTYA, Lucy worsley documentaries, "back in time for..." etc

The Blair brown I have on watchlist

Films - if you have a good connection/can download ahead of time (this will save you data of course) then there are usually good films available on iPlayer they get excellent classic films on there! But also fairly "new" ones that aren't available "free" elsewhere

Always worth a look to see what's on there

Starstruck -, six episodes and easy to binge

HarrisMcCoo · 15/10/2021 20:43

Teacher was addictive, but then the ending was a bit of an anticlimax.
