Cruising with The Nolan's. Can't imagine anyone wanting to watch that. Even the advert makes me cringe.

Soaps.

ILoveJamaica · 08/10/2021 13:48

I agree! Soaps are so depressing or cringeworthy. I love a good documentary.

I hear there is a programme in the making about Jimmy Saville, with Steve Coogan to play him. I just can't.

HeronLanyon · 08/10/2021 13:52

Trouble is even though a Nolan’s cruise programme is about as far from what I would be interested in I can imagine many thinking ‘oh look the Nolan’s ! And on a cruise !! Quick we can’t miss that’.
It’s not a good imagining but so what.
I’m sure my own ‘can’t miss’ programmes would similarly be bewildering to many.

BarefootHippieChick · 08/10/2021 13:53

I can't think of one offhand but who tf came up with the idea of cruising with the Nolans?!!

riotlady · 08/10/2021 13:54

That one about Amanda Holden and her fake nan. Don’t get it!

ISpyCobraKai · 08/10/2021 13:55

I used to like the Jane Mcdonald cruise show, total guilty pleasure!

thenightsky · 08/10/2021 13:58

Amanda Holden and her fake nan. Why would you even glance at it?
Cruising with the Nolans sounds dire too.

I find the opening intro music for The One Show sends me into a coma almost instantly.

BarefootHippieChick · 08/10/2021 14:01

You couldn't pay me enough to watch anything with Amanda Holden in it.

MissAmbrosia · 08/10/2021 14:02

Mrs Brown's Boys. I just don't get that at all. I wouldn't mind cruising with the Nolans Grin

3kidsareenough · 08/10/2021 14:04

Naked Attraction....Hmmjust....why?????

TheFairPrincess · 08/10/2021 14:05

Sorry a bit less light hearted but.. "If you can't pay we'll take it away" and shows of that ilk.

I get some shows I think are naff but can see how people with different bad taste would enjoy them, but I cannot fathom how people enjoy watching people who are in such a financial shit storm that bailiffs are coming round to them. It just makes my heart sink to think this is actually allowed on TV.

CluelessHamster · 08/10/2021 14:09

I've never understood the appeal of Gogglebox.

I switch off adverts for it as it irritates me so much.

Been running a long time though so...

SwedishEdith · 08/10/2021 14:10

Any of that 'sneer tv' - people on benefits, gypsy weddings stuff. Anything to make the viewers look down on someone else.

TOWIE/Made in Chelsea and shit like that. I hate that these stage managed programmes have made dull, uninteresting people famous. And they generate more shit tv as they now have 'celebrity' status to appear of all the other celebrity programmes.

Mrs Browns Boys was what immediately popped into my mind when I read the thread title. It's not just that I don't like it and don't find it funny, it's that it's so awful I can't imagine anyone wanting to watch it. Truly one of the most dreadful programmes ever and totally baffling to me how anyone could enjoy it.

Er...

You might want to get the second part of your post to read the first!

Deathraystare · 08/10/2021 14:21

Mrs Brown's Boys.

I am guilty of having Watched the Nolans on a cruise before!!!

TheQueef · 08/10/2021 14:24

All of the sneer TV as described by PP.
I mean why? What is 'entertaining ' about watching others misfortune?

Shock but I've always loved Gogglebox - they watch all the telly so I don't have to Grin
Rosesareyellow · 08/10/2021 14:27

Most haunted… it’s obviously not real - ‘did you hear that noise?’ (Everyone at home hears no noise). I really don’t get why people find that entertaining.

SpangoDweller · 08/10/2021 14:27

Gogglebox for sure. And celebrities doing anything. I’m not a snob though, there’s trash tv in all genres!

The one I really don’t understand people participating in is Embarassing Bodies. We have a national health service! If you’re that embarrassed about your bum boils, go and see your GP instead of getting them out on telly!
FindingMeno · 08/10/2021 14:28

Any game shows.

Rosesareyellow · 08/10/2021 14:31

@riotlady I used to think this but recently I’ve figured that many of these people didn’t get the right help from their gps. It’s sad that there are for example women who felt they had to flash their vagina on national tv because health professionals haven’t taken their pain and discomfort seriously.

Tellmeee · 08/10/2021 14:32

I hate those consumer programmes where they try and catch someone out. Some of the scams need to be exposed but it’s horrible to watch.
