By the way, watching the video above of Mark and Karen’s AT really reinforced for me how bad the production is now.

We could see their feet! Doing the steps! The filming was straightforward, none of the gazillion spins and up to the ceiling crap we have to endure now. Just simple, focussed filming of the actual dance. With feet close ups on two or three occasions.

I would die of happiness if they went back to this style of presentation and appreciation for each dance and it’s unique character.
So many of them blend into a muddle. Used to be you could switch on and know exactly which dance was being performed.

I have vertigo and every time the camera spins my head goes with it 😂

Have I imagined/misremembered that there was red button option for a while that gave a commentary? I would love to be able to watch with the option to have someone naming steps and highlighting good technique etc. As I have zero technical knowledge I would love to learn what we should be looking out for and what things are called.

I'm out this weekend so won't be able to catch up until Sunday - I'm absolutely gutted because there's so many dances I'm looking forward to seeing. I'm a sucker for Movie Week.

Rhys (playing to his strengths at last)
Robert (though very nervous because it could be dreadful)
AJ (always value and I'm really taking to Kai)
J&J (could be a bit special)

Cheers for the jive input polka and running. I could see it was wrong but I couldn't work out why it had gone so wrong. I also wish I could remember more terms.
I know it would be hard on Strictly because it's live but it's a shame they can't do a subtitled slow mo with words like Drunken Sailor, New Yorker, Fleckerl etc underneath the bits and if there is a foot that goes wrong it gets pointed out straight away.
I know they do some of it in results or ITT, but on DOI they seem to be able to hone in on things during the show itself - - even if those terms and lifts are sometimes made up--

Movie week I think would benefit from one week when they have music used from films without having to go into character, so just use the song and a style without the need to "be" somebody in the film.
There are lots of songs and music available where the film/plot itself is forgettable but the music is divine.
