Because Judi is tremendous fun, and she and Grazi are lovely to watch. Maybe there's a large girl out there who's self conscious or thinks she shouldn't dance. Maybe watching Judi will make someone think that you can dance whatever your size?

GrouchyKiwi · 02/10/2021 21:13

I always love the silence after watching Strictly. It is such a loud show.

We voted for Ugo (x2), Katie (DD1's fave), Dan (DD2's fave), Rhys (DD3's fave), and AJ because she's great.

tiddlysquat · 02/10/2021 21:15

Greg came across so badly when he did Bake Off but I judged wrong , he's a lovely guy.

evilharpy · 02/10/2021 21:16

We voted John & Johannes (my choice, I love them) and daughter chose Tilly and Rhys.

Robert was undermarked for sure, I hope he's safe.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 02/10/2021 21:17

I went strategic and went Robert, Rose, Nina even though Adam and John are my faves

GreenTeaPingPong · 02/10/2021 21:18

Totally agree that Robert was under-marked and Judi over-marked, very unfair. Almost everyone had way more actual dance content than Judi.

BeaLola · 02/10/2021 21:19

We voted 1 for Rose as she was under marked & twice for Robert as he was under marked too

We were strategic in marking (we think) as expect screen 2 of scoreboard to provide the 2 in the dance-off

Overall my fave dances /performances tonight in no particular order

Robert
Rose
Rhys
AJ
Ugo

peachgreen · 02/10/2021 21:19

Surprised at the love for Robert on here, I've found him incredibly grating and thought that Paso was serviceable at best.

peachgreen · 02/10/2021 21:20

I voted Rose, Greg, Nina. Felt a bit sorry for Nina being in the death slot and thought she was great last week so would like to see more.

@JayAlfredPrufrock

No idea why Gordon keeps getting mentioned.

What exactly is he on these days?

He does a road trip show with Gino DiCampo and Fred Sireux (First Dates) which is quite funny, although my OH said if Gordon went from this show and got replaced by another random chef it wouldn't make a difference. Gino is just a bit of an irritable prat in it and is the main source of entertainment. It is pretty funny, definitely worth watching.

Tbf, he does a lot of TV shows and has a fairly high profile. I mean, I would say he's more internationally recognised than the Loose Women presenters, for example...
EsmaCannonball · 02/10/2021 21:21

There's no-one I don't like and there's no obvious Jacqui Smith/Quentin Willson cannon fodder, so I'll be sad about whomever leaves the competition.

Much appreciating the lack of comedy VTs, especially now we no longer have the joys of Pasha's acting.

Oti's quickstep choreography was so much more fun than Katya's. Those quirky moments Katya always shoehorns into her dances just seem to interrupt the flow of the routine and can make the whole thing seem a bit sweaty and desperate.

Kai puts me in mind of a tough-guy detective in one of those 1950's-set American cop movies, like LA Confidential. It's quite a different look for a Strictly pro and I am not complaining.

Speaking of LA Confidential, poor Dan was more Russell Harty in Giggleswick than Russell Crowe in Gladiator.

Emma Thompson doesn't get you the Pimp Slot but Gordon Ramsay does? Did like Tilly, though.

Loathe, loathe, loathe everything about Couple's Choice. It diminishes the ballroom and Latin USP of Strictly and helps turn it into more of a generic dance show, the heart-tugging VTs are the antithesis of Strictly being an oasis of fun and a bit of escapism for the viewers, and it's really awkward watching the judges pick apart someone who has genuinely done something very personal and meaningful. Get rid of it.

shallIswim · 02/10/2021 21:22

Late to the game but Tilly's scores?! She's a very lumpy dancer. No bounce. A Charleston needs bounce doesn't it?

peachgreen · 02/10/2021 21:23

I would keep couple's choice for the final or semi personally. I don't mind people doing something a bit different and personal but it should be alongside other dances.

user1471530109 · 02/10/2021 21:28

Robert did the Tango. Dan did the Paso.

Elderflower14 · 02/10/2021 21:28

I've just bought Greg's book that he wrote with his sister.. 😢

Simonjt · 02/10/2021 21:33

We voted John, Rose and Ugo.

SequinsandStiIettos · 02/10/2021 21:34

Dashes in. Sorry, missed the start so had to replay from the beginning, this may have been asked already where is the online vote?
Have they done away with it? Do they expect me to pay cold, hard cash?! Grin

Elderflower14 · 02/10/2021 21:37

Wilfs Dad was a lot older than me so consequently so were his brothers. One of DHs nieces has posted a pic of one of the other brothers(her and W uncle) and his wife on the original Come Dancing! ♥ ♥♥ ♥ ♥

go to bbc.co.uk/strictly

But you may have to rush I think the vote closes in like 7 mins

SequinsandStiIettos · 02/10/2021 21:40

Damn. Mobile only?
Cannot vote this year then.
Sorry Ugo (amazing improvement)
Sorry Nina (does not deserve to be there due to undermarking, overmarking wombling free for two weeks in a row)
Sorry Robert (in danger where he is)

That said, I like all of them this year and don't actually think any of them are duffers or have no potential.
Much as though Greg has my respect for caring and the backstory I can relate to, he should be the one to go this week. Nor am I particularly fond of Adam, even though everyone else sees something I don't. He only had my empathy tonight because he was channelling Luther Vandross, in terms of sweat, which I can only put down to nerves rather than stamina, bless.

SequinsandStiIettos · 02/10/2021 21:41

Page did not exist

SequinsandStiIettos · 02/10/2021 21:42

Maybe not meant to be then as each couple had something going for them, from either last week or this.

Ellmau · 02/10/2021 21:44

I thought John and Johannes were the best this week - that was a fantastic routine, sexy, confident and great to watch. But it did make me think their partnership lacks the contrast in physicality you get with the traditional m/f pairing, so can we really compare on a like for like basis?

Best of the rest for me were AJ, Tilly, Rhys and Adam.

Worst: Judi, Greg, Nina, Robert, Ugo.

Danceoff prediction: Nina for sure, probably Judi, possibly Katie (who was not bad but forgettable which can be worse for getting votes). Nina to go home.
