Watching it for a 2nd time. I actually went looking for the dvd just before it came on BBCiplayer as I've been wanting to watch it for years and I wasn't disappointed. ManBearPig is a bit questionable 😂
Anyone else seen it?

I had a really strong visceral dislike/fear of Mr Hickey and as a result didn’t like The Terror at all. I watched to the end just to see how it was finished (knew the facts but interested to see the fictional version). Definitely the writing/character though as I’ve seen the actor in other things and it’s not him!!

what I loved was the way they, or many of them, were doing it for queen and country, which is hard to get your head round nowadays.
And there were so many officers - but officers, it turned out, not because of their skills and experience but purely, in some cases, Captain Franklin, because of their posh back ground - hence the dire decisions made by him.
And the problems Crozier had being a more lowly birth. Fitzjames pompous attitude turns out to be because of his lowly birth (if I'm remembering correctly) - I like historical series that actually develop their characters fully.
Very well cast.
Paul Ready from Motherland ? who'd have thought it!
Hickey was brilliant too and even the ending was poignant, not too depressing.

I haven't watched North Water yet, saw the start but I don't think lots of swearing is authentic as many people were believers in God, so blaspheming wouldn't have seemed a good idea. In my unproven view.

@TrampolineForMrKite

DH and I got hooked on this- watched six episodes in one night but found the last few episodes a bit disappointing. Also didn’t think they should have shown us the monster. It just made it ridiculous. But there was a lot to love and Jared Harris was great (and weirdly sexy).
I love me some Jared Harris. It's one of those strange crush things.
