Seriously I do believe it might be the worst movie I’ve ever watched - you’ve got to see it to believe it. Grin

Cheesy but glorious escapism
PuppyMonkey · 06/09/2021 21:38

Steaming pile of shit, you say? Count me in!

elQuintoConyo · 06/09/2021 21:40

Is there a drinking game we could attach to it?

stairgates · 06/09/2021 21:41

Meant to be watching it now but have found myself on here instead!

PuppyMonkey · 06/09/2021 21:42

You’d have to be very pissed to enjoy this @elQuintoConyo Wine

Ahh very cheesy but DD & I loved it! Nice easy watch for a chilled out Sunday.

ShakespearesSisters · 06/09/2021 21:43

Once I got past the cringyness I actually enjoyed it. Was nice she ended up leading her life and him joining her rather than giving up her dreams for a man.

PoshWatchShitShoes · 06/09/2021 21:44

I want to watch it now! Sounds like silly escapism

PuppyMonkey · 06/09/2021 21:46

Ooh spoiler - I haven’t got to the end yet.

I don’t often start films and not finish but I put it on as I love Billy Porter. I didn’t even get to his part. I couldn’t go on 🙈

CloseYourEyesAndSee · 06/09/2021 21:46

I tried it but turned off after ten minutes. Tooooo cringe.

CiaoForNiao · 06/09/2021 21:48

We enjoyed it! Total cheesy escapism.

BritishSummertime · 06/09/2021 21:49

DD aged 9 is part way through, she loves it but her taste in movies is notoriously dodgy Grin

PuppyMonkey · 06/09/2021 21:50

Oh shit, I think Pierce Brosnan might be about to start singing.Shock

I've promised my girls we can watch this soon. Looking forward to it now! Grin

CiaoForNiao · 06/09/2021 21:52

I'm not sure I'd call what he did "singing" Grin

dollyknocker · 06/09/2021 21:53

We loved it! It's absolutely cheesy shite but there's nothing wrong with that.

TheatricalGiraffe · 06/09/2021 21:53

I just don't understand how you can get such a talented powerhouse such as Idina Menzel...and have her sing Material Girls..

We pushed through...theres a bit at the end where her and Camilla Cabello sing together...It's clear where the talent is in that movie...

Athenajm80 · 06/09/2021 21:56

I nearly turned it off after all the singing at the start, but I'm glad I watched it all, mainly for Billy Porter, Doc Brown 😍, and the updated message of not letting a man get in the way of your dreams. I thought Beverley Knight's Caribbean accent was quite good, but Pierce Brosnan did make me cringe.

PuppyMonkey · 06/09/2021 21:57

Excuse my ignorance but who is Billy Porter?

astoundedgoat · 06/09/2021 21:58

It was atrocious! There were a few tiny clever moments gleaming in all the horror - the town cryer was good, and the mice had a couple of good lines during their human time. I thought the bit where she was surprised they were male was funny.

I was curling up and dying for Billy Porter - I know him for his fashion, is he really that bad an actor or was it just the writing?

But then it wasn't written for me, and my 10 year old enjoyed it.

We watched Cruella a couple of days ago and it was FANTASTIC.

BrilloPaddy · 06/09/2021 21:59

My granddaughter made me watch it at the weekend.

Sheer and absolute fucking torture.
