Do you think the move to streaming channels has made family viewing harder?

My kids are still pretty young, nearly 5 and 7, but they're starting to be awake until 9pm+ on weeknights (and still wide awake at 7am) and I'm thinking back to when I was a kid - pretty sure in the evenings by 7pm ish we were watching whatever was on TV at this time of night.

But these days, streaming channels mean it's a) easier for kids to just expect kids' TV all day every day, and b) harder to find suitable family shows to play at this time of night without knowing in advance what's in them.

20 years ago, you could have just opened the TV guide and selected a channel that had something interesting on and, pre-9pm, it would have been OK. (You can still do this, but my TV isn't hooked up to the aerial, tbf.)

I have tried to put family friendly TV on that I'm also interested in, but my last attempt was Clarkson's Farm and that actually had a lot more swearing than I'd anticipated...

Does anyone else struggle with this? I feel like I really need to research more family TV to wind down in the evenings with.

There's so much on the Disney channel to watch. I watched Cruella last night with my teen DS, we've watch so many films on there together as the choices suit us both. But we also find stuff on Amazon or Netflix too.
