I dunno, it looks like they have gone down the Aussie route of more reality wannabes as apposed to real people who want to get married like the previous seasons.

lynsey91 · 20/08/2021 09:32

I don't know why they keep making this programme when none of the marriages work.

It makes a total mockery of marriage and I am surprised that Registrar agrees to do it although I would guess she likes being on tv

HateJudgmentalPeople · 21/08/2021 07:27

I am still missing the last Aussie series, S6 and not S5 so I’ll be watching, not really watched normal TV channels for months now so looking forwards to that.

Onlinedilema · 21/08/2021 07:29

I'll try and watch it. I really would have thought more of the marriages would succeed.

Italiangreyhound · 21/08/2021 17:29

@Lemmings123 they have definitely gone down the Australian route, which I think is more fun! The thing with the Aussie version is that they do not actually marry legally which I think is better. So the shoe is really a daring thing with people wanting to promote themselves! As long as everyone understands that, I think it is fine. I hope contestants watch previous series!

Show is a dating show

@lynsey91 I expect they make it as it is popular. It does seem to be very bad at getting actual matches! I think first dates is better for actual track record!

@HateJudgmentalPeople Aussie series were on Southern Hemisphere TV (shtv).

@Onlinedilema I think more of the American ones have done.

Anyone no what happened to maf australia? the next series was supposed to be on e4 in the summer! I suppose if the uk version is following the Australian format it might be better than previous season's so I'll give it a go!

Patbutchersarrow · 21/08/2021 17:43

Italiangreyhound · 21/08/2021 22:52

Thank you, Italiangreyhound I'll check that out.

TitsInAbsentia · 23/08/2021 22:41

Cooooooooeeeeeeeeee!! I'm in!

We've got aussie Mel on the panel haven't we, and that lovely Paul from Celebs go dating. I've never heard of Charlene Douglas but a quick google has her billed as "The Intimacy Coach"...hope she doesn't do all that boaky stuff where they get them massaging and the like.

Italiangreyhound · 23/08/2021 22:43

@TitsInAbsentia I hope it'll be good. I think it is good if they are all in it for fun and insta likes Nd not really to find true love!

I can't wait. I live for the dinner parties 😁

ShitShop · 23/08/2021 23:08

Oh em geee I’m in! Love the Aussie one more than the UK one, so I’m glad it’s going to be more like that. The UK ones always seemed a bit serious. And yes, I know marriage is a solemn commitment not to be undertaken lightly etc but whatever, it’s entertainment!

ShitShop · 24/08/2021 00:04

Just found the Australian one of southhemitv thank you!

ShitShop · 24/08/2021 00:04

The young couple from last series are still together, and one of the couples who didn’t get aired as the ceremony had to be cancelled got together anyway and now have a baby.

Piggywaspushed · 24/08/2021 08:19

I preferred the UK version. More sincere. I can't watch the Australian one; I find it unbearable and crass. I am guessing now this has gone to E4 it will be more 'reality'. Will give it a go, I guess..

Natsel84 · 24/08/2021 08:22

Cant wait !

MelbourneTerrace · 24/08/2021 08:23

I'm in the 'preferred it before the Instagram gloss' camp, when it was about real, for instance the teacher and her new DH who had to make real choices about where they would live, moving jobs, houses, working through family impact etc.
The Instagram famous world doesn't seem to need that, suppose you can be an 'influencer' or Instagram famous from anywhere.
