is Taboo Season 2 starting next month?

Season 1 is on iplayer, which is often a sign that a new season is coming up, but I haven't found any clear information about whether it's happening or not.
Meanwhile I'm loving it all over again ...

No, it hasn't even been filmed yet sadly! Apparently the season 2 script is written but Tom Hardy isn't sure it's the direction they should take and is considering a time travelling idea instead...

Argh don't get me started on this. I've been waiting so patiently for the last 50 years (it feels like) for S2 and then Tom Hardy comes out and says it might jump forward in time until the Vietnam War or summat. God, this is a clear example of when actorrrrrs should NOT be involved in producing/writing etc. I just want someone to sit him down and say "Tom, no. Just no. The audience wants you, in a daft hat and giant coat, gutting people and grunting".

I know!! Or convince him to do the mad idea for season 3...

Agreed. Although I have to say I was just totally thrilled to find out he hadn't shelved it altogether for the money-making shit-storm that is the Venom films....

It's not just him I want to see, but Cholmondley, Brace, Lorna, and Solomon Coop etc etc.

Brace won't be in it i reckon. It wasn't looking good for Cholmondeley at the end of S1 but you never know (he was a great character). Loved Lorna. And Atticus! I think even scheduling some of these actors to be able to film together will be tricky, never mind TH and his commitment to doing the shitty Venom films. I'm a huge Taboo fan in case it wasn't obvious Venom, not so much...

Yeah I can't see there being room in his schedule for quite some time. Going to re-watch series 1 in Autumn, that'll have to do!
