Does Kathy come back from Australis or is she off for good? (fingers crossed)

Really liking Jason. It's lovely to have a happy smiley person something which is severely lacking in modern Emmerdale.

Edna is awful here. She changed her tune in later years.

I can't remember Edna being in it in 2000, but can remember all the other characters and events from then.

I can't marry up the Bernice we see in classic with the Bernice we see in current. Can't remember anything that turned her into such a flakey character?

I read that the reason Samantha Giles left last time was that she was fed up of being a daft character and came back because they promised more serious stories for her. I have to say she's brilliant at comedy though. I love her.

Is it just me, or are the Reynolds family deeply unpleasant, with no redeeming features( apart, maybe from the son, who had the sense to leave)?
There is zero chemistry between the parents; cannot understand how they ever got together!
The father, Sean, constantly scowls, moans and bullies everyone.
Ollie, the daughter, is same as the dad, moan, moan, moan.
Please, hurry up and leave, with Kathy, and Emmerdale will be perfect.

Kathy’s voice really grates on me, she sounds permanently exasperated. The Richie and Sarah affair is so unbelievable why on earth did the scriptwriters put them together, I just can’t imagine what a 19 year old ‘whizz kid’ would see in a 40 something frumpy downtrodden housewife with 3 kids who has a permanent scowl on her face, it’s ridiculous and they look ridiculous together.

Not just you @Tiaandchewy79. They are awful screeching and shouting all the time. Unfortunately there's still more to come. And we have grandad Reynolds to look forward to as well

YY to the Richie and Sarah story being totally ridiculous. It's not even as if she was an attractive 40 something like Charity in modern Emmerdale.

Kathy's voice/delivery of her lines is so annoying. She seems to put emphasis on certain words and her voice rises at the wrong time IYSWIM

I don't know if I was looking back on Classic with rose tinted specs but it seems to be particularly dire atm with all the aggro with the Reynolds family etc. Still the return of Lady Tara should be something to look forward to

Ooh I love Lady T!! Wish they would bring her back to current Emmerdale.

I agree she is brill at it but can totally understand why she wanted something less silly.

I like the Reynolds kids and Shaun but just not Angie. Lady T is up there as one of my all time favourites.

I'm still catching up but glad to hear that Lady T has returned.
For me it all went downhill when Kim left.
I'd have booted Ritchie out the moment he started whining about how much he'd given up.

I think even a night with the lovely Carlos wouldn’t cheer up miseryguts Cathy. For a young, attractive woman with her own business, she sure does moan.

Looking forward to seeing a young Nicola soon; I think she has a storyline with Carlos, so she should be making an appearance shortly….

It would be great to have Lady T back in modern Emmerdale - she was one of my all time favourite characters. I remember thinking Carlos was gorgeous back in the day but he doesn't do a lot for me nowadays. Nice to see smug Adam (I love myself) get his comeuppance.

Not sure if anyone has said but did you know that Marc Reynolds is played by Neville Longbottom's older brother?
