Behind Her Eyes on Netflix - does it get better?

Halfway through second episode and it's pretty awful - rubbish acting, ploddy script, all very overblown. Should I bail out now or are there genuine delights in store?

No, it gets worse. Give up now before you regret wasting any more time on it

Doggitydog · 03/08/2021 16:27

Erm, it gets weirder? You are committed now, so you have to finish it sorry. Suck it up.

Isbobmyuncle · 03/08/2021 16:28

I thought the early bits were better than later in the series. If you don’t like it so far, give up.

Lottapianos · 03/08/2021 16:29

Haha! No, if I can avoid wasting another 4 hours, I think I'll do that Wink

No, it’s shite. But her clothes and her house are GORGEOUS!

SerenShine · 03/08/2021 16:30

I'm on episode 3, it's dire isn't it! It really depressed me last night but I have to finish it. I have to 😬!

Vooga · 03/08/2021 16:30

No

Lottapianos · 03/08/2021 16:33

I've just read an article online about the series ending and that's it, I'm out! Sounds like utter garbage

SazCat · 03/08/2021 16:40

We actually did finish it, god knows why it was awful! Wish we'd have given up tbh.

Siite · 03/08/2021 16:43

The book it's based on was terrible too.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 03/08/2021 16:43

The boy is excellent. I think there's to be a second series.

BringMeTea · 03/08/2021 22:19

Total bobbins. It really does get so much worse.

SerenShine · 03/08/2021 22:45

Oh my god, that ending... 😶😶😶

CanofCant · 04/08/2021 12:06

I enjoyed it! Grin

AgentProvocateur · 04/08/2021 12:19

It’s probably the worst series I’ve endured. Give up while you can.

QueenBee52 · 04/08/2021 12:23

Awful creepy sinister ending 😖

NoviceNewMN · 04/08/2021 12:38

The book is better but the premise is odd. If you aren't one for the suspension of disbelief it's not for you.

I'd read the book first and when I heard they'd made a TV series of it, I wondered how they would portray the way the two characters [did what they did] you'll understand if you've seen it without spoiling it. I thought it would be difficult to 'explain' visually.

I thought they did quite a good job of 'explaining' it via the medium of TV actually as I'd have drawn a blank!

I'm glad I read the book first but can't say either were great works!

shumway · 04/08/2021 12:43

Watched it because it was recommended on Mumsnet. Total rubbish.

LokiOfAsgard · 04/08/2021 12:50

DH actually picked that ending out before it happened, I was well impressed.
Unfortunately though as soon as I found out the actress was Bono's daughter I could only see Bono circa 1985 😂

PizzaPiePizzaPie · 04/08/2021 12:51

No, it’s total trash (I watched it all though regardless)

Waveafterwaveslowlydrifting · 04/08/2021 12:52

I quite liked it. The ending was shocking and I thought about it for a few days afterwards. Very creepy.

ShitShop · 04/08/2021 12:54

I read the book as a close friend knows the author and recommended it. Enjoyed the first half. Have to say the ending was shit! Didn’t even bother watching the TV show.

VivaDixie · 04/08/2021 12:58

I was so cross I invested in this! I enjoyed the first couple of episodes, plodded through and bollocked myself for finishing it by the end.

It was awful

Alwaystired99 · 04/08/2021 13:09

If it's the same as the book do not waste your time. It's stupid and ridiculous. I was so angry I chucked the book in the bin, only ever done that once before with American Psycho!
