Series recs along the lines of Home Fires?

Looking for something new to watch.

Have just binged on both series of Home Fires and loved it. I did watch it when it was originally on TV but enjoyed it far more this time round.
It seems that I now prefer gentler TV to murders, thrillers etc!

Please recommend me something similar.
Have Britbox, Netflix, Amazon, Sky.

I really liked Pie in the Sky, and Where the heart is. Both of them are on demand on U.K. tv play. They’re both nice and gentle. More recently I enjoyed the new version of All Creatures Great and Small which is on BritBox.

Whitstable Pearl and Rosemary and Thyme are both on Acorn, and Ted Lasso is excellent on Apple TV.

BritBox is a treasure trove for gentle tv (the only kind I watch) it has dinnerladies, Mum, Scarborough, Kate and Koji, and loads more. I’ve just watched life begins and am now reliving my youth with grange hill.

Born and Bred would fit the bill but I can’t find it in anywhere. I liked The Royal too, years ago.

Really looking forward to other recommendations

Thanks for those recommendations UnitedRoad (great username btw!).

I've signed up for Acorn (I hadn't heard of it before reading your post) and bookmarked several on there including Rosemary and Thyme. There's a couple of Australian dramas that look very good too.

Have also signed up for Apple TV to watch Ted Lasso, I love football so I'm sure I'll enjoy it. DH and I have quite different tastes in our tv viewing so it can be tough to find something to watch together but he'll enjoy Ted Lasso too.

Downton Abby

Different genres and CTM and TIU do have some upsetting/ emotional parts, but generally all are more ‘cosy’ watching and not totally traumatic/ violent/ murderous!

The Durrells and All Creatures Great and Small

You’ll love Ted Lasso. It’s the perfect blend of warmth and football. My daughters didn’t want to watch because they’re not into football, but I told them they’d fall in love with at least at least 7 characters, and they both did. The only two slightly frustrating things are my husband telling me it’s really Crystal Palace’s ground every flipping time, also and series 2 has only just come out, and they only show one episode a week. Please let me know what you think. Like you, my husband and I have very different taste in tv.
