We have (I'm slightly ashamed to say) watched everything!!! Looking for new suggestions please

I like:
Outlander
discovery of witches

Husband likes
Anything with a detective

Both like
Ozark
Baptiste
Homeland
Derry girls
Friday night dinner

Don't like:
Stuff like This is Us. Seemingly never ending American shows.

We've watched all the recent BBC stuff (and most of the old). We have Netflix and Amazon Prime.

What are you all watching? Help!

There is a new series of the comedy Why Women Kill. It was my favourite programme last year.

flowerycurtain · 31/07/2021 14:44

Thank you - will take a look

Have you seen The Unforgotten? I recommend it to everyone - it's easily the best crime drama series ever and I've watched a lot!

Katrinawaves · 31/07/2021 14:48

Have you watched Bosch and Goliath?

ChequerBoard · 31/07/2021 14:53

We enjoyed the recent remake of Van der Valk with Mark Warren in the title role. I'd missed it whenever it was on terrestrial TV a few years ago so it was a good find for us.

Other stuff we have enjoyed:

  • Wallender (remake with Kenneth Branagh in Scandi moody mode)
  • Fort Salem (female witches form the army in this dystopian story of 4 girls entering the witch training academy)
  • the Last Kingdom (Story of Uttred Ragnarsson, a Briton brought up as part of a Viking family)

Sneaky Pete on Prime

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 31/07/2021 14:56

Spiral. French police procedural on iPlayer. Absolutely gripping! Was recommended on here.

Also The Missing, if you liked Baptiste.

rosesarered321 · 31/07/2021 14:57

Oh yes Unforgotten is brilliant, best thing we've seen for ages.

CatAlice · 31/07/2021 14:59

I second Why Women Kill. Awful title but very funny, clever drama.
Wanted on Netflix is brilliant, Australian comedy / thriller about two women on the run. A bit Thelma and Louise.

whatthejiggeries · 31/07/2021 16:09

The last kingdom is so good. I will watch why women kill now!

suckingonchillidogs · 31/07/2021 16:55

I'm watching The Innocent on Netflix - it's Spanish but dubbed into English (well American). Plot is a bit too involved to go into but it's mostly about a group of women caught up with with sex traffickers and the lengths they have to go to in order to escape. Sometimes it's a bit gratuitous violence and abuse wise but I think the women will come out on top in the end (well I hope they do!)

Papergirl1968 · 31/07/2021 17:55

Line of Duty? I only started watching recently and whizzed through every season. Gripping.

User56439876 · 31/07/2021 18:26

Glitch on Netflix is good, Australian version of The Returned (Les Revenants)

Muchmorethan · 31/07/2021 18:30

The Blacklist

Bohemond · 31/07/2021 18:44

Criminal - make sure you get the UK version

flowerycurtain · 31/07/2021 18:52

Thanks, some names I haven't heard of here so hopefully something!

Done Line of Duty & No Offence (love the latter). The Borgias is one I've enjoyed before and oh, I do like a bit of Uhtred. The Wallender remake is a great one too. Love to see more of that.

I'd happily to spiral but DH can't be doing with subtitles.

Thanks for the suggestiosn
