The programme Unreal was written by people who worked in reality tv. I've read it is very true to life. Contestants are manipulated. They are told who to chat to, what to chat about. They are told who to be interested in because they are told who is interested in them. They are told how to react (which is why they all get so excited about someone kissing or going on a date). Watch it. It's an eye opener and LI makes so much sense now.

NotJustACigar · 31/07/2021 09:26

Agreed Unreal is very good. I wonder whether the producers will show Millie any footage from Casa Amor - do they ever do that? And I didn't like how the new girls were pushing Millie to forgive Liam - she'll probably listen to them thinking they know more than she does about what happened.

I hope Teddy and Faye get back together- I don't like her much but I think most of what I don't like about her is due to her having being hurt - and I mean deeply hurt and damaged from childhood rather than just cheated on or something. I think her self esteem is very low which in her case is backed up by the fake tits also (not saying everyone with a boob job has low self esteem from childhood but I do think there's a strong correlation).

@Mistressofnone

Mary is a bit spooky. Maybe it's the eyes - quite far apart so can keep a watch on Toby.

I think after Liam agreed to share a bed with her, Lillie probably felt she had the green light to go after him. Liam could have said no, it's not like ALL the boys were sharing a bed with the girls and he would have felt left out.Then after the kiss, I expect Lillie thought she had sealed the deal.

When they come out Liam will be watching back and kicking himself. He and Millie were up there on the top for the win and he fucked it.

I hope Millie moves on, but I have a bad feeling that in a couple of days they will be all lovey dovey again and a day later they will be 'official'. Then, they will be looking back at Casa Amour talking about how they were 'tested' and now they are stronger than ever. Hmm

Twitchynose · 31/07/2021 09:34

Was it just me that thought it was so sad that Millie immediately assumed that there was something wrong with her rather than realising that Liam was a arse?
I agree, Faye’s behaviour isn’t great. I don’t think it’s a question of justifying her behaviour, but understanding why she behaves that way. Hopefully this experience will encourage her to seek some support to work in herself.
I’m still in two minds about Jake. He definitely loves watching a bit of drama and will instigate it to do so. I do wonder if he’s just a bloke that doesn’t talk about his feelings? My ex was like that, he never complimented my appearance or said he missed me when he had to go away. He showed that he loved me though. Maybe if you follow all that “language of love” twaddle, Jake shows his love eg breakfast dates etc. Then again, ex is an ex for a reason so it could all just be a pile of poo!

@namechangeforthispost123

The producers were heavily involved with getting Liam to 'get to know' someone else, they would have encouraged all of the boys at Casa actually but mainly Liam because that was narrative they wanted. Same with Teddy, all set up for Faye to kick off, the difference is that Teddy has a bit more about him and wasn't so easily manipulated.

Until you've been on one of these types of programs is hard to believe how much the producers are involved, the story board is often pre-planned with the 'characters' before the series even starts.

Oh and I can't look at Matthew without seeing Screech from Saved by the Bell or Liam as DCI Steve Arnott

I wish you'd do an AMA!!
ufucoffee · 31/07/2021 09:41

I wish they'd let all the casa amor people stay in the villa.

PumpkinKlNG · 31/07/2021 09:45

I was hoping they would let them stay too! Give it a real twist. But then wondered where they would all sleep 😂

Bluntness100 · 31/07/2021 09:49

I think it’s logistics in terms of fitting another six people in. They simply don’t have the space, it’s bursting at the seams now anyway. Also with so many people it just becomes too much and too confusing/diluted. There’s already too many in, they will need to start dumping quickly. Another six would be a night mare,

Mary and fayes new bloke will be first out.

I thought that too @Twitchynose, that actually quite upset me.

Also, what about the ones who made no inroads? No point keeping them in if they weren't suited to the game

Monestera · 31/07/2021 10:14

An AMA by anyone involved in a (UK) reality show would be amazing. Someone recommended Camilla's book this summer, and it's good, but there's (understandably) not much about Love Island in it.

CHISistoast · 31/07/2021 10:14

@Bluntness100

To be fair to Liam he did keep telling Lillie his heart was with Millie and he didn’t touch her in bed, all he did was kiss her on the teepee and flirt with her, yes it’s bad, but he wasn’t in a relationship with Millie, and it’s not like he was running round, all over Lillie in bed and shouting Millie who?
I think he was just hedging his bets and probably made a last minute decision to stick with Millie. If he'd done more with Lillie, he would've known Millie would find out and not forgive him. Plus, I don't really get this asking to be gf thing, this is new. When I was a feckless 20 something, you just kind of assumed you were in a relationship after a few dates.
CHISistoast · 31/07/2021 10:15

@HmmmmmmInteresting

he wasn’t in a relationship with Millie,

Have we been watching the same show? 🤔

Think you're thinking same as me: nowadays you ask someone to be in a relationship!?!
Monestera · 31/07/2021 10:17

When I was a feckless 20 something, you just kind of assumed you were in a relationship after a few dates.

Same here, but I think this age of dating apps is very different.

MizMoonshine · 31/07/2021 10:27

Is difficult because there are two sides to it here.

The villa is intense. You're with someone 24/7 and sleeping with them every night. It's a false intensity that you wouldn't get on the outside for the same length of time.

So yeah, they've known eachother around 2 weeks at the point that he goes on a "lads holiday" and cops off with someone else. Outside of the villa, probably not a deal breaker. Inside, the emotions are magnified.

I think Liam is very immature. And that's why he laughed when he was caught out. He didn't know what to do in that situation. It wasn't because he was feeling snug or because he doesn't care. I think he has genuine feelings for Millie. I really do. I think he was forced to look at it from the perspective of knowing someone for a short time and then going on holiday. He's very, very, easily lead.

Given a chance to mature I actually think he and Millie could be good together. He needs to learn a lesson. He needs to apologise. He needs to make her breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday until she tells him to stop. But ultimately I think they're not so far gone that there's no come back.

Unpopular opinion.

Monestera · 31/07/2021 10:33

Unpopular opinion. I think it's a fair theory for pretty much all of the behaviour we see, but being judgemental is more interesting.

I feel bad acknowledging that.

MizMoonshine · 31/07/2021 10:36

Oh yeah it's for more fun to ready the torches and pitchforks but they're still real people with real feelings and in all seriousness I hope they do what's best for them in the long run.

OMG @namechangeforthispost123 I actually googled pictures of Screech to show DD because I thought the same and now I can not un-see it. DD did not see it!
ReginaaPhalange · 31/07/2021 10:39

@Twitchynose my husband doesn't tell me he loves me every day, to be fair I always say it first and he will respond with "I love you too", nor does he say I look good etc, but that's my husband, he's verrrryyyy quiet but I know he loves me and finds me attractive in many other ways.

After seeing Jiberty last night, I actually did think he might be genuine.... either that, or he's a bloody good actor! It's so hard to tell haha!

Teddy on the other hand! Offfttttt! Yummmy!

Dancingonmoonlight · 31/07/2021 10:47

For all those saying why did Lillie think she was going into the villa, most of us thought he would bring her back too.
He didn’t think he’d get caught.

MizMoonshine · 31/07/2021 10:55

I think Lillie was being vindictive in saying that, to be honest. Even from the very biased footage that we saw, he did keep her at arms length.
He "gave her 100%" and kissed her then got up right away to talk to the boys and told them his heart was with Millie.
He didn't cuddle her in bed (much to her annoyance). I think she knew she wasn't making it to the villa but was encouraged to spill the beans anyway.

Toomuchtooyoung01 · 31/07/2021 10:57

@MizMoonshine yeah that’s all true.

I kind of hope after last nights episode that Faye and Teddy realise how much the producers have fucked with them and they decide to leave together instead of playing any more of their games.

namechangeforthispost123 · 31/07/2021 10:58

@Tiddleztheelephant Well I'm not sure how interesting it would be because it wasn't the magnitude of LI and also it would be incredibly outing of I answered anything in depth!
