I was thinking about this, watching Hugo kiss Mary, and seeing he went after Chloe, who was at one point number one for all the boys, and likely fancied Lucinda who was arguably one of the prettiest in there and fancied by a few of them.

I think Hugo wants who he perceives to be the best looking girl in there, the one everyone fancies, and he’s not interested in getting to know anyone else.

I think he’s that shallow. He wants to be the one who pulls the girl everyone else wants and if he can’t, he’s not interested in anyone else.

The fact Mary basically put Toby as the guy she fancies the most is going to have him beyond fuming.

He will go back in with the brunette, but it’s Mary he wants.

Completely agree @Bluntness100 Hugo has a very strange attitude generally but you’re spot on there.

I’m still annoyed with Liam 😂 but honestly I do think there’s an element of being told they must play along, as I’ve thought the same in previous series where it’s a generally decent guy who’s settled and they seem to go for the challenge with gusto.

In the evil genius which is Temptation Island they show them clips of what their partner is getting up to in the villa. Invariably this results in reciprocal bad behaviour out of revenge. Love Island is missing a trick here if you ask me.

If there was any element of game playing Jake would realise Millie and Liam were his greatest competition and so would encourage Liam to make the most of his 'once in a lifetime opportunity'

Sadly I just can't see such strategy coming from this lot

I'm disappointed in Liam. I've got a real soft spot for him because he's like a younger better looking version of our postman. He'll be getting a hard stare when he delivers our bills tomorrow.

In previous seasons they did show the girls what the guys were getting up to in Casa Amor but it sparked a load of Ofcom complaints from people concerned for the girls’ mental health so I doubt they’ll be doing that this year.

I had to switch off after about 2 minutes of the fucking childish games as I was in danger of heaving up my dinner.

Is tongues everywhere kissing anything that anyone wants to see? It's literally gross and surely been influenced by porn. My teens can't bear to watch it either so it's not that I'm not just that I'm an old fuddy duddy.

There was something about last night's episode that really brought it home to me how much Love Islanders are expected to humiliate themselves for our entertainment and I didn't particularly like it.

I don't really know whose who of the new folks as I didn't watch it all but Hugo continues to annoy the fuck out of me.

I reckon love island has jumped the shark and I'm mourning the love I once had for it.

I sooo hope some tv genius comes up with something else soon!

I'm sure it used to be earlier than Casa Amor and they used to do it more than once! Suppose it's pretty nasty really, maybe they've binned it

No, it's only ever done once a season. They do also do similar in things the islanders have said. Season 3 was definitely after Casa Amor, I think there has been one done before, possibly season 5, as Amy and Curtis were savaged in it.

They do a headlines challenge too. Similar principle but instead of twitters it's what the papers have been saying.

Mary and Clarissa are pretty, why did teddy go for Clarissa thought he fancied Clarissa? Strange don't rate lilli at all but think Liam will go there....Hugo doesn't have a chance someone will go there just to get a place though. Tyler teddy and Toby will deffo stray seems like all the girls are into them 3. Jake I think will behave but tbf none of the girls are interested.

Liam what the hell?! Him and Millie are my favourites; kissing is NOT flirting!!! He'd better behave himself.

I think teddy will stray but I wouldn't blame him, Faye comes across as very taxing and I don't think they're a natural fit. The girl he was talking to by the pool was gorgeous.

I like how Medhy was talking about Kaz, as in, she's fit and sexy, not banging on about 'her energy' like the others, shows he actually finds he attractive and not just a puppet of the producers

Re 'energy', I wonder if it's part of the same well-meant othering that there was an MN thread on some time ago about 'why do (white, presumably) people talk about white women but black/ Asian 'ladies'?'

As in, Kaz is very pretty and I think has one of the best figures in there and presumably the guys see that too. But a young man might be aware of race issues and be very wary of physically objectifying a black woman or commenting on something that might be seen as stereotyping or othering (her colouring, say, hence the talk of 'dark features' earlier in the series)... im not saying this in a PC-gawn-mad kind of a way, but maybe they're just aware of the potential to say something wrong so focus on her personality instead?

Wouldn't be surprised to learn that Medhy had been instructed by the producers in what to say about Kaz.
