Sky offer

After seeing a billboard (the power of advertisiing) I realised that they are starting to show a British version of Sesame Street on the Playhouse Disney channel. (I quite wanted to see the American version as I liked the New york browstone setting, it seemed so exotic to me as a child). I rang up sky to see how much it was a month and its £6 and I thought of just doing it for a month then they had the offer on for all the sky channels (movies and sport too) for only £1 extra a month for 3 months. Quite a good deal if you remember to cancel after 3 months. I have put a reminder to do so in my mobile phone!

I just rang sky, jane (all excited after reading that!) and the bloke didn't know what I was talking about - do you know what number you rang, or if you had a special order code or anything? I used the general customer services - 08702 404040.

I'm not sure of that number, I rang the one that comes up on screen if you look at a channel you haven't subscribed to. He just offered it to me. I kept getting him to repeat it as his accent was a little difficult to understand.

Maybe they only offer it to you if you don't ask! I just asked the price of disney but didn't want to subscribe then and there. He then offered it to me. Maybe they just do it every 100 calls or so! Or maybe he lied and I'm paying the full whack!

Thanks, jane . (IKWYM about the incomprehensible accents!)

Good thought about not asking - DH would like to have Film Four, maybe I'll ring up about that and then not take it and see what they say, although when I rang before he said he had our account up on screen and there was nothing there about any offers - well no! - he might have made a note that I'd asked....I'll leave it a day or so and try again.

Filmfour is the only one you don't get though! just sky movies and sport and disney. I think I'll invest in some new video tapes.

Ah - yes - it is separate, isn't it? OK, will pretend I have a Disney watcher! (LOL at "just sky movies and sport and disney"!)
