Talking of relationships that make you feel uneasy (or not) - Stephanie and Sportacus

I've been reading old thread about Lazytown because my dd's are obsessed atm. In some posts there were suggestions that there was something vaguely wrong about the Stephanie/Sportacus set-up. What do you think? Personally it would never have occurred to me - I think Sportacus is the heroic figure who will appeal to boys, Stephanie is there as a role model for girls. End of story - or not?

Well by that standard we could close half of MN down.

I don't think it's just about a children's TV programme, I think it raises questions whether in our times we are able to see a relationship between an older male and a young female and see it as anything other than dodgy.

Not really a thread that set MN alight though was it?
