Has anyone else seen this?

Just finished watching and I am in awe of her braveness. She was so strong to continue to live her life as she did, and help the police the way she did

Shame on those police for not believing her and I hope hell rained down on her grandmother and mother for allowing what happened to her to happen

Yeah, I've seen it, I agree with what you're saying.
On the back of this film I've rewatched Unbelievable.

That was a good film too

It’s such a shame that the initial reaction is “she’s lying”

I watched it the other day. Equal parts awe at her perseverance and strength and resourcefulness and absolute horror and disgust at the people who didn't believe her.

And that's before I even consider her foul excuse for a grandmother. Sickening.

I thought it was brilliant. And I love the fact she got a job in law enforcement. Her mother and grandmother were awful!

Soubriquet · 17/06/2021 15:16

I actually found the mother worse than the grandmother weirdly enough

The mother talked like Lisa deserved everything that happened and that she was lucky to be molested and raped every day whilst living with her grandmother because she had a nice life living there and was lucky to live in such a nice house

Good film and fantastic young woman.
I do wish they'd have made a little more of the initial female police officer who didn't believe her though.

Faranth · 17/06/2021 15:25

I thought the mother was foul too, but I figured she'd probably had a similar upbringing and was understandably damaged from that.

I'd like to think that someone who'd experienced it would do everything in their power to prevent the same happening to their child, but the statistics on cycles of abuse show how that's often not the case. So so awful.

CimCardashian · 17/06/2021 22:45

Where can I watch this please?

IHaveBrilloHair · 17/06/2021 22:49

Netflix.

Did anyone else see her on This Morning today?

She came across really well but I think her home life was even worse than what was portrayed in the show, if that's even possible.

Poor woman who has amazing strength and has gone on to do amazing work. Her strength is unbelievable.
