Just reading this about the improved support contestants will be receiving - counselling sessions and social media support. Love Island: ITV announces new contestant welfare measures

@Zampa I rewatched and I think Liberty said 'where are you from, like, originally?' and Kaz replied saying 'country? Zambia but Essex now' or something. They had just been talking about going to uni in Birmingham so I don't think it's clear whether Liberty just meant where did she live before uni. To give her the benefit of the doubt.

I think there is a little more diversity in shape? Some of the girls have bigger hips and legs than in previous seasons. Not making any judgement, just saying they're not all teeny skinny minnies. And tbf the guys are all ripped. I don't see how you really could introduce more diversity in weight or whatever, they all have to be generically attractive for the format to work. Same as they all have to be straight.

Agree there's no chemistry and it's a bit 😬 but I think it always is. By the end of the season you watch the recap of episode 1 and you're like omg remember she was with him, or whatever. Your perception of them totally changes.

Faye definitely gives Olivia Attwood vibes, like someone said.

I think Faye looks like a cross between Olivia Atwood and Laura. I think she’s quite scary and potentially a bit of a nightmare.

I think Aaron is really fit and I really like his personality. Confident without being arrogant. I was surprised when Shannon said that he was quiet and preferred guys like Brad or Jake as they have banter. I thought Brad had zero chat.

I like Kaz. She seems lovely and genuine. Shannon is beautiful but as someone else said she seems bored and disinterested. Hugo seems sweet but have a feeling he’s going to be the one struggling to make a connection this year.

I actually know Shannon through work and can tell you that she acts bored and disinterested in literally everything from what I've seen 😂

@darksideofthemooncup I'm around their age (well I'm the age of the eldest ones) and also don't understand circulation cutting jeans. They look awful and I don't know any blokes who wear them in real life!

Evening. Well none of those couples seemed happy with their choice by the end of the evening! I like Kaz and Sharon for not looking like clones but Sharon seems a bit of a snob. Of the boys I like Hugo and Aaron. I always like the quiet ones.

I love to watch this terrible show and get outraged by the hideous clothes. And the makeup! My God!

The show where everyone pretends to be loved up to stay on the show but the winners are usually the best actors?

They have but it didn't really work, didn't two girls couple up at one point and then it just knocked the recouplings off for a week or so? When I say they need to be straight I guess what I mean is they need to be in boy/girl couples for the format to work. Cos you have your inevitable 'friendship couples' every year so if they let people pair up regardless of sex you could just have like Kem and Chris, the two Lukes, Paige and Shaughna etc pairing up. You can't have gay contestants in Love Island as the format stands, it's not inclusive but it's a fact.

Against the grain but I like Faye, don’t like Sharon, Shannon seems boring and lacking in personality but then she complained that the guy she was with (sorry can’t remember his name!) was boring and didn’t have any banter but she seems quite boring herself. Kaz and Liberty are nice. No thoughts on the guys just yet.

Well nobody picks the black girl again…. They need to sort it out. Faye reminds me so much of Katie Price. I’m crap at remembering the boys names 😂

Yeh not gonna lie I can’t remember the boys that’s why no opinions yet.

I think kaz is going to be another Samira/yewande situation by the looks of it!

Kaz looked so beautiful standing there but I honestly knew exactly how it was going go. Difficult as people like who they like I suppose but it just seems so unfair.

Kaz is stunning and I just don’t get it.
Agreeing with the vibes about Faye but time will tell.

Why she wasn’t picked*

I thought it was a strong first episode. I like Faye, I think all the hate she is getting online is unfair. Sharon gives me bad vibes. The guy filming the toe sucking was gross (but a bit hilarious for how inappropriately brazen it was).
There were 4 of them that weren't chosen by anybody. The girls seemed really reserved in who they stepped forward for this season. If you only step forward once and that person doesn't choose you then you're more likely to be left to the end, I was a bit shocked when Aaron went for a girl who didn't step forward for him- that's a gutsy move! Looks like it's not going to pay off

I think Faye might be the one who makes watching week one worth it. I’d hate to think she was being edited badly.

I really like Faye, I don’t know why she’s getting a hard time.

Hugo reminds me of Jamie Dornan.

I couldn't watch it last night and can't find it anywhere! Any clues where I can watch it?

Brad reminds me of Ronan Kemp (mixed with a bit of LI Mike )

Last series was the first that I’d seen (watched with DD). This seems very similar but I guess the format’s always the same. I mean they’re so far off any sort of diversity it’s hilarious, but I guess that’s the point I found myself reminding DD15 that it’s not normal to look like that - most people don’t!
It’s a very easy watch, I’m sucked in already, although did turn over for France v Switzerland penalties.
