A Place in the Sun- cannot travel so rewatching

I know this has probably all been said before but need a rant! As we cannot travel and when I need simple things on in the background I have been delving into the backlog of A Place in the Sun.

Firstly, if you are showing people around homes at the end of dirt tracks do not wear 4 inch heals and floor sweeping dresses!

All the little intros about the presenters having a background in property. I just do not believe a word of it. I worked with someone who was a presenter on an obscure satellite chanel years ago. She told me the woman on Homes under the Hammer when it started just won a competition to be a presenter just like she did.

The budgets- crazy. I also hate the 'is there any wriggle room'? And then they show things up to that price as it is 'the top budget. Obviously most budgets are crazy (as in far too low).

And then there are the house hunters. We have a budget of £50.62, expect 2 beds because everyone will visit. Need views, a pool will be nice, near bars, restaurants and a major town. But no neighbours or road noise. Then when shown properties all too small/too dated/ too much work etc. etc.

What is the actual purpose of this programme (apart from cheap tele fodder)? Also, why are all episodes bloody Spain? My abroad property dream is not Spain. Mix it up a bit producers.

Agree. There was an Italian one not so long ago, love the US ones - they are so opposite to what I would want ie close to the ‘parks’ but fascinating nonetheless Grin.
