Aww, Des and Gerry. Might be difficult to bring back Gerry Sad.

I had a goldfish called Des Lynam.

DS2 was watching a bit of the match with me and went off saying this guy is boring all he does is serve Grin

Raahh · 29/06/2021 21:10

Well, Peter seems to think it's ok if all he does is 'coast' and bang down a bunch of aces.

I don't know why they are still carrying on like he is the saviour of the sport. That ship has well and truly sailed- surely- if it ever actually left the dock. He's never lived up to the hype, and now there are younger, better, more interesting , less knobbish players around- why are they still obsessed with him? What does he have over them? Grin.

Raahh · 29/06/2021 21:12

Allez Ugo!! You can do it.

JaneJeffer · 29/06/2021 21:12

They are just saving face now Raahh Grin

JaneJeffer · 29/06/2021 21:14

Come on Ugo!

Peregrina · 29/06/2021 21:15

I thought they sowed the grass afresh each year on centre court? But it does seem especially slippy this year. Djoko also had a couple of minor slips.

Fizzywinegum · 29/06/2021 21:15

Grin at the Boris confusion (again) - they are starting to look quite similar though!

Des the goldfish Grin

I don’t get Today at Wimbledon being on before all the matches have finished either

JaneJeffer · 29/06/2021 21:15

Non pushy parents is a refreshing change in the tennis world!

the80sweregreat · 29/06/2021 21:16

Djok can fall over any time he likes..

Raahh · 29/06/2021 21:17

Jane I think you're right. They've been saying it so long, they can't back track now. If he carries on, they will still be wittering about the young genius that he is- when he's 37 and still hasn't won anything.

JaneJeffer · 29/06/2021 21:18

Oh stop shouting!

JaneJeffer · 29/06/2021 21:19

Yes!!

Raahh · 29/06/2021 21:19

Peregrina I thought they re-seeded every year too- after the tournament you always see the pictures of the diggers going in and ripping the place up Grin. I can't imagine they have left the grounds as they were when it was re-done in 2019. I'd be surprised.

Raahh · 29/06/2021 21:20

Djok will never slip. He had elasticated ankles. It's all because of skiing, apparently. and he's not human.

Peregrina · 29/06/2021 21:21

Sorry who's this young genius that they witter on about? I only really watch Federer. Although I did watch the Djoko match yesterday and thought Jack Draper did well to take the first set. So even if Djoko wins this year, he won't be able to say he didn't drop a set on the way.

Raahh · 29/06/2021 21:21

I mean, he slips, but he won't get injured. He seems to bend in strange ways.

JaneJeffer · 29/06/2021 21:21

Stretch Armstrong Grin

Raahh · 29/06/2021 21:23

I'm not sure why Kyrgios plays at all. He must have enough money now to do something he actually likes.

JaneJeffer · 29/06/2021 21:24

Peregrina it's Nick Kyrgios. The commentators love him for reasons best known to themselves.

Raahh · 29/06/2021 21:26

Ahh, Stretch Armstrong.

They were creepy, weren't they? Grin.
